go about giving my son and daughter-in-law their points as a Christmas present? My DH and I added on again at BWV. The additional points were to go to our son,daughter-in-law, and grandson. However, we couldn't change the original names on the contracts if we wanted to continue to pay the mortgage & dues on the points. Our guide said we should just add their names as authorized users. They will not mail us cards with their names on them. We will be giving them the tote bag, planner, calendar, Vacation Magic, etc. Any ideas on how to make this really special? Thanks

Mostly helping you out with a bump.

What a cool gift! I didn't know you could have others as authorized users - probably because we never considered anything like that.

Could you maybe use some kind of chips or marbles in a jar to represent the number of points or something for the gift? Or if they're not familiar with the concept of points, you could work out a few plans for how the points could be used (# of nights/accomodations, etc.) on cards. Not sure if it's a gimmicky thing like that you're looking for.

What a wonderful gift! My creative brain is not working at the moment though, sorry.

Are you planning this to be an ongoing gift? I guess by that, I mean are you gifting this to them for their use only? It would be nice to have it in their name so they could get the member perks like AP discounts etc, but if it is just as an add-on, I guess I would think the books etc would be a great way to give this gift. You might also put together some Disney freebies like the little soaps and shampoos that are usually in the room.

If it is a perm gift then add them to the deed or as associate members (I think they still do this). If you add them to deed pay attention to how you retitle the deed. Check with a lawyer and ask about the best way to take title. It has both estate and resale implications.

I would get the DVC video and wrap it up with the planner, tote bag etc -- include a copy of the deed or have a special "certificate" made up with the number of points you are gifting and include a picture of their home resort on the certificate.

Do you have any vacation club or member pins you could tuck in? How 'bout some "pixie dust", (from craft store...maybe glittery easy to clean up kind).

What a great gift!!!!
