Hi!! First time poster :) My adult daughter who will be in a wheelchair due to disabilities and I will be heading to Disney World from December 12 through 18. We have tickets to MVMCP on the 13th and six day hoppers for the other days. We have decided not to do any of the parks the 13th and just go to the MK at 4:00 and stay until close. As far as the other days I would love your suggestions as to which parks which days. I am hoping mid week will be okay crowd wise but the weekend will be the start of Christmas Break and we are unsure how to navigate that. By the way...we are NOT early morning people and with her disabilities we are more like 10:00 people. Blessings :)

Hi Welcome! I am an adult in a wheelchair too so when those parks get busy I know what it is like! Christmas is lovely we went last year. Weekend I would do AK and the resort hopping. It is wonderful to see those decorations and Gingerbread houses. Weekend days MK and DHS. You have party tickets that is wonderful. Don't forget to book your FP+ from
4 - 7 pm on party night! Have. great time.

Thanks so much!!!! So, resort hopping, we aren't staying on site so I'm not familiar with that term. It's been 20 years since I've been. I live on the west coast and have done Disneyland 19 times but Disneyworld only 3. Also, as a newbie...what is DHS? lol. Thanks!!

Try undercover tourist for crowd calendar. It will show which days are busy and which park to go to.

DHS is Disney Hollywood Studios

You can ride the monorail and stop at the different resorts to visit!

I am also in a wheelchair and you might want to check out the DISabilites board for lots of good help on traveling with a chair!

Thanks!!!! You are soooo helpful!!! I am so thankful that you are answering as you also have disabilities and understand the difficulties in navigating that can happen with crowds. I have a weird question...do you know where one could buy a cheap plastic cover for the wheelchair in case it rains?

I use an ecv so I just use a rain poncho to cover mine. The hood area covers the controls and the rest will cover the body of it. If its not raining much, I just use a shower cap to cover the controls. I have a cute animal print one!

Thank you once again!!! Oh, I do have another question, do you need to use your park ticket to ride the monorail? Thanks!! Happy Sunday :)

No. A ticket is not required to ride the Monorail. Park at the TTC (Magic Kingdom parking lot) and start there. Resort parking lots are for guests eating, shopping or staying at the resorts.
As suggested earlier , check the disABILITIES Forum here on the DIS. They can answer your questions.
