Hi all!

We are ready to make ADRs for our April/May vacation next week, but I'm having trouble deciding where to eat before Fantasmic. Last time we ate at 50's Prime Time, which was good, but we want to try something different. I thought about doing the package, but I don't want to eat at 4 in the afternoon (I know I'm being dramatic!) Does anyone have a suggestion on somewhere nearby we can eat at before Fantasmic? I'm not sure which resorts are close by. I thought perhaps we could do Beaches N Cream, or ESPN Club. I'm open to anything. We would probably want to eat around 5:30 with hopes of getting to MGM by 7 so we could head into Fantasmic.

Any thoughts appreciated!

We eat at Hollywood and Vine every time...It is our one "do not miss" place!
Of course, we always do the package, but you can still eat there without it. It is a great buffet, with a variety sure to please everyone. We have not had any problems with the quality of food or the place being dirty with rude waiters (the most common complaints that I have read)...

As for Beaches and Cream...we were not impressed. If I was staying at the resort then I would eat there. But I wouldn't leave a park and waste time to go over there. The food was good, but the place is so small that the wait was long.

Hope this helps...
Happy planning! :goodvibes

Hi, we always eat at Mama melrose's befor fantasmic, they have realy gud flat breads! I've never done the diner package b4 but havnt had a problem without it. I fink u'll be best off dining somewher in the park, i would'nt go 2 far cuz u mite be in kind ov a rush 2 get back, enjoy ur trip :)

In MGM, we like Sci-Fi. It gets some bad reviews here on the DIS, but we find it to be good burger joint type food in a really fun atmosphere, and we've never had bad service there. I think the secret is to keep it simple, though, so if you're looking for something more than a burger, onion rings and a milkshake, you might want to look elsewhere.

The Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Swan/Dolphin are just a boat ride away from MGM if you don't mind taking the travel time to eat, but a lot of the resort restaurants don't serve lunch. I think Beaches & Cream, ESPN Club, Yacht Club Galley, and Big River Grille are the only places open for lunch, though I have no idea about what's at the Swan/Dolphin because we were on the dining plan and stuck to participating restaurants.

We really liked ESPN Club, but since they don't take ADRs, I don't know that I'd plan on eating there when you're on a schedule. Same with Beaches & Cream - we tried to eat there twice but never did because the wait was an hour or more both times we checked, and that was at odd times (11AM & 3PM).
