I am in need of suggestions on preferences for AKL pool view room. What floor is best? What building, Zebra or Giraffe? As well as anything else I need to know...

** We would like to be close to the transportation/food etc. without being right in the middle of the noise, etc. if possible.

Thanks in advance, we leave next Friday for our first time stay at AKL and want to make sure I put in for the best possible. Thanks!

We were upgraded from Standard to Pool view at AKL in February, and we were very pleased with the room, its location and the view.

We were on the 3rd floor of Zebra Trail, which is the location I'd request if doing it again. The 3rd floor is actually the Lobby level, so you can walk from the bus to your room without going up or down the elevator/stairs (we were only about 6 doors in from the main lobby, and didn't have a problem with hallway noise - there was some, but it was muffled and wasn't enough to bother my sleeping children).

From the 3rd floor, you overlook the pool from your balcony (I enjoyed watching my husband & son swim from the balcony while my younger son napped). I think another advantage of requesting Zebra Trail is that the other side of the hall is Savannah view, so it's a short walk down the hall to see the animals.

If you'd rather be on the same level as the restaurants and pool, then you may want to consider staying on the first floor.

Have fun. I think you'll enjoy it!
