Suggestions on timing?

Forgive me if this question has been answered before - I'm new here.....

But not new to Disney

I'm hoping to plan a trip for next year at some point that would include a visit to the waterparks. My husband and I went last year (2007) with my parents and had a blast! It was the first time my husband had gone since he was a little kid so it was fun to "show him around". Anyway - I haven't ever been to the waterparks (except River Country when I was little) and I don't believe my husband has either. Any tips on the best time of year to go and still be able to enjoy the waterparks but not melt from heat and humidity the rest of the time? I know ya' can't have everything.....but a girl's gotta try, right? We can go any time of year except Jan - mid April (for some reason my firm gets a little cranky when us accountants want to take time off during tax season ). Any suggestions?

We love the first half of May. crowds low and highs around 88-90.

I would probably avoid their storm season (I think July-Sept) because as soon as there is any lightning in the area you can't go in the water...you can wait it out but you never know how long until the storm passes.

We're big fans of early November. Warm enough to wear shorts and swim but not enough that you melt. One of the water parks is closed though which is a downside. Another good thing is that towards the middle of the month they decorate the parks for Christmas

I always loved going in Feb/March, because I'm from NY and it's just downright ugly at that time of year. I'm so sick of the snow, and getting away to FL is so nice! But now that I'm (nearly) done with school, I can forget those days of going in March! LOL! I was really fortunate in that I interned for a CPA firm, and they let me take off. But this year, if I intern there, I doubt they'd be so nice about it. Haha.

I really can't say that I've been any other time. I'm going in December this year, which... I'm kind of happy about (never have been to Disney around Christmas time!) but I hear it can get a tad chilly. But still, it's Disney.

I look forward to the responses here, because I too, will be in the same position soon enough (hurray for tax season!)

Hello to another fellow CPA (or soon to be CPA). Tax season is the reason that we can't go from January/February through early April as well. You'll love Disney in December - I've been at that time of year and as long as you're willing to forgo the waterparks and possibly any ride that will soak you (like Kali River Rapids) depending on the weather, it's great to see all the holiday decorations. It's tricky to pack though - it can be hot or cold so you really need to take both warm and cool weather clothes. Be sure to catch the Candlelight Processional (the priority seating option for that saves a ton of time and you can actually go for lunch at some of the restuarants) and the Osbourne family spectacle of lights - those are two of my favorite things about the holidays at Disney

We are going down 11/29 to 12/5 this year. It is my favorite time of year . However, it is a bit to cold to go swimming. I found that late April/early May wasn't horribly hot. Penny
