Hi!! I have a group of 12 going to Disney in September. We decided on a few places to eat. Sci Fi Dinner, Rainforest Cafe, Chef Mickey's, Hoopty Doo, and Maybe T Rex. We like places that are unique and fun in atmosphere. Something that we would talk about. We have the DDP and this is our first time using it. Can you suggest in every park a "do not miss" place to eat that will do the DDP? Where are the places that you eat that you do not miss on your trip?

Keep in mind that the Rainforest and TRex do not take the DDP...Also that the Hoop Dee Doo will require 2 credits instead of 1...

Sci-Fi is fun and something that they will remember...But large parties are a bit of a problem there because you will be split up...They can likely seat you next to each other but you may have to wait longer even with an ADR...

Tusker House for breakfast in the AK is fun...Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge is great for families but that means taking the boat from MK...We also like 50s Prime Time in DHS for lunch or dinner...Chef Mickey is great for breakfast and is a quick monorail trip from the MK...

Counter services are great for large groups...We love Columbia Harbour House in MK.

There's quite a few "sit-down or Table service" restaurants which do not participate in the DDP. T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe are those not on the DDP. Sorry :scared1: There's many good restaurants at each location if I may say so. What are the ages of your group? mostly little kids? young adults or mixed? more information would be helpful. If you want to do HDDR, it's going to be 2TS off your total DDP credits. Chef Mickey should be fun. If you have smaller children, 'Ohana breakfast or dinner will be great too.

Here's some of our other favorites:

Epcot(Table service): Le Cellier, Chef de France, and Coral Reef(w/o entertainments; just good food)
Epcot(counter service): sunshine seasons, Tangierine cafe
MK(Table service): Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Taverne, Tony's Town Square
MK(counter service): Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbour House, Peco Bill
DHS(TS): 50's Primetime(you will talk about this meal for months), Sci-fi
DHS(CS): Backlot express(my only favorite here)
AK(TS): Tusker House(B,L,D)
AK(CS): Pizzafari, Flame Tree BBQ, and Yak & Yeti Counter service(Yum)

Sorry I should have given more information. I have 5 adults from 30 -65, 2 are 18, pre-teens-2 are 12 and one is 13, 2 are kids 3 and 5. I might mention that the 3 year old is autistic.

I also wanted to post about that if anyone knows of any quiet areas in the parks he could retire to if he needs to regroup. He did very well at a local amusement park but this is 7 days of park :scared:. We have planned a day and a half of just relaxing by the pool for him. He is usually well tempered and like most toddlers gets cranky when its naptime and all bets are off :scared1: We were in debate about Rainforest but thought that TRex would be nice because he loves Dinosaurs.

Try 'Ohana, Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, 50's Prime Time Cafe and Le Lellier Steak house, oh and Coral Reef. :dance3:

Wow, that's a big group! But given the age difference of the whole group, I would suggest different touring plans accordingly. It's best to let all the teens in their own group. Just let them know where and when to meet up for dinner. I personally think that teens are harder to please than toddlers :rolleyes1 The rest of you can relax and enjoy the parks at your pace. Some good and quiet places in the parks for the little ones:
MK-2nd floor of Columbia Harbour House restaurant
AK-the only quieter and cool place to go that I could think of is @ Pizzafari restaurant. There's a little section where it's half-walled in.
DHS-"the great movie ride", yeah, it is long and boring but cooled.
Epcot-Behind "station cool"(coke samples around the world)

This info is very helpful. Tough to balance "do not miss" with your demographics...but here goes:

Restaurants
MK: Columbia Harbour House (this is a good counter service restaurant. Suggest you dine upstairs...less noisy and a good place to regroup...our regular oasis when we visit the MK)
Epcot: The Biergarten (a fun place to have lunch with food everyone will like...a good German ethnic experience complete with live music!)
AK: Flame Tree BBQ (another GOOD counter service place with excellent food and fun seating...good for adults and kids)
DHS: 50's Primetime Cafe (very fun and unforgettable schtick)

Quiet spots
MK: Tom Sawyer Island (lots of quiet spots, cool trees, no rides, plenty of benches...older kids can check out Injun Joe's Cave and Fort Sam Clemens while others chill on rockers and benches)
Epcot: The Seas (a great place to chill and enjoy the tranquility of the sea life)
AK: Maharajah Jungle Trek (walk, look at animals, cool trees...no multi-media stimulation)
DHS: Seating area on Sunset Blvd (next to Fairfax Fries, Rosies, Catalina Eddie's and Toluca Turkey Legs)
