Suggestions on Paint Colors

Our TV room has red/gold paint. The red wall is similar to your red (BM color that I can't remember right now) and the other walls are BM's Sandy Valley. It is a deep gold color. I LOVE the way it looks.

That is great to hear. I think a goldish color would blend nicely with the rust on the accent wall.

I love the colors you have used. I really love the mojito etc, plates!

I used a "family" of Behr colors when I had my house painted - if you click on this link and then on virtual tour, you can see some of the colors (my house is on the market)

The colors were crocodile tears (green), terraza tan (accent wall), pony tail (light tan), Belgium Waffle - yellow - they still have the card at Lowe's - I needed another can of one of the colors and didn't have one number of the label and was able to find it from the chip.

Except for DDs room I used all of those colors throughout the house in various combinations.

Oh wow, those look great! Thanks for the info!:goodvibes Thanks for the sweet comments!:wizard:

I think a deep yellow would look nice (like the other poster said, it can't be lemony).

Or something rich in the taupe/brown spectrum would work well with the rust wall and still be neutral enough to make furnishing/decorating simple.

A little color can sure make a lot of difference... those builder-white walls just look unfinished, don't they?

Yeah, I think it is between a deeper, warmer yellow or a taupe color.

It IS amazing how much of a difference a splash of color can make!!! The white walls do look unfinished!

Whenever I paint, which happens whenever I move and that has been frequently, I go on to the Benjamin Moore website and virtually paint a room. You can get complicated and load your own pictures on to the site, but I usually just pick one of the photos they already have on there that sort of looks like the room I want to paint, and play with the colors. It is amazing how different things look, and I have to say, this little tool has helped me avoid making some really big painting mistakes. There are colors that may look great on the paint chips, but actually put them together in the room, and the combination isn't anything like what you wanted. Try it out...it's really fun! Plus, you might be really surprised at what looks nice with your current color...for example, you might want to experiment with colors in the khaki family. You might like that better than the yellow.

finally took pics of the finished room. The color is actually a little darker than what appears in the pics, like I said before close to your Mojito plate.

Now to put the room back together! :rotfl:

Take one of the couch pillows with you (the floral pillow) and match that goldy-beige color that's in there.

Wow! I didn't know you could do that! I am going to try that right now! Thanks so much for the tip!:goodvibes

That is a very pretty color. It is neutral, but it still adds a splash of color to the wall! Thanks for posting!
