Suggestions Needed for Best Way to "Remember Mommy"

((hugs)) Your post made me cry. My DH got some bad health news today and it just hit home with me.

Your message will happen and mommy will be there enjoying her family at Disney, watching from heaven.

Hey, maybe we can say Hi! Glad to see you'll be enjoying Gay Days. There's a HUGE festival here in Toronto every year, and it's always the best party of the year. I'd especially love to see Star Wars Gay Days!! :)

Back to the subject, does anyone know if you can purchase a plaque on a park bench or something? I know the stones on the walkways are not for sale any more.

That'd be great! I'm up for meeting fellow DISers on my trip! At last year's Gay Days at DHS for Star Wars Weekend I saw some people wearing shirts with rainbow-colored stormtrooper helmets on them. I thought they were pretty cool. I bought a red shirt with Goofy as Darth Vader and Donald Duck dressed as a Stormtrooper. I'm just not sure it will fit. It was too small when I bought it last year and I didn't lose as much weight as I hoped this year.

I think the most fun will be the first day when we enter the Magic Kingdom. I'm taking my son to the Pirates League and my MIL is taking the twins to BBB for 9:30am appointments. They have no idea this is happening, so it will be a cool surprise. Also that night, after dining at 1900 park fare, we're doing the Pirates and Pals boat cruise. Hopefully that's not too much in one day.

That should be a great experience for them! I'm sure they'll really enjoy it!!

I remember your story, I was in tears before and I'm in tears now too. I was thinking exactly what many the other PP's said and that is to just let the magic happen. It was natural the first time and unplanned and that is part of what makes it so beautiful. May you all have a wonderful time together!

Your story hits way too close to home.

My wife Cathy passed away one month ago today at the age of 46. We were married for 20 years.
We had a WDW trip planned with my SIL and niece. We are still going and will be celebrating Cathy while there. Even a small part of her will be left behind so she will be in WDW forever.

Not quite sure how the whole trip will be but must keep moving forward with life.

I'm so sorry for your loss too. It can't be easy at all. But I do hope you have a wonderful time in WDW and I hope you will find some magic there too. And welcome to the DIS.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's nice to know that people you don't even know can care so much. Being a single Dad is tough, and you sometimes wonder that even though you're doing your best if it's good enough. The encouragement is greatly appreciated.

you sound like a great father  and i would do like the other posts said and let the magic happen :wizard: bless you and your family :goodvibes
