Hi,

So me and gf will be in Disney in Nov for our land and sea package. After getting off the cruise, instead of heading home, we decided to stay an extra 4 more days. Some of our ideas were to rent a car, drive around Orlando and just see whats in Orlando as we have never been ouside of WDW everytime we are in Orlando. Might also visit Universal. OR rent a car, drive to a beach. Are there any recommanded beaches for couples? Just not sure what else to do. I wouldn't mind going back to the world but thought we could do something different. If there are other suggestions. please dont' hesitate. Thanks again.

Well there's just way too much to do in central Florida to summarize in a place like this. Assuming your cruise is bringing you back to Port Canaveral, there are rental car companies with facilities in Cape Canaveral, Florida that will pick you up at the ship and then allow you to return the car to MCO with no drop charge. And indeed, a rental car is the best way to explore since it gives you a lot of freedom.

Cocoa Beach is not too far from the port and has a lot of oceanfront hotels. Daytona Beach is more famous and has more facilities. St. Augustine to the north of Daytona has a lot of history and a lot of couples go there for the numerous bed & breakfasts offered there.

I give a big thumbs up to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, especially if you all like roller coasters. The new Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket coaster just had a soft opening and will be fully operational by the time you come.

Thank You for your input. We will most likely rent a car but probly from MCO because I paid for a RT bus ride on disney. I will read up more on the beaches you suggested. Thanks again :)

Of the beaches mentioned I would vote for Cocoa Beach it's quiter and less crowded making it more relaxing...and has Ron Jon's. :thumbsup2

I have always liked Oceanside Inn in Cocoa Beach. It called LaQuinta Cocoa Beach Oceanfront now. They just renovated the whole hotel and have all new rooms. They have great ocean views and are right by the Cocoa Beach pier.

If you rent a car you need a company that has drop off service in Port Canaveral. The Port Canaveral car rental companies that have it are Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Thrifty and Hertz. They all have free port shuttle too. National, a little further away, doesn't have shuttle.
