Suggestions getting to Boma's

In a few weeks I will be staying at OKW. I have breakfast reservations (10:20) at Boma's and was wondering which way do you suggest we get there. I was thinking about catching a bus to EPCOT (or any park for that matter) and then from there catch a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have heard that buses out of Downtown Disney sometimes run really, really slow. I thought maybe the park buses would be more frequent, but at that time in the morning .

Also, I was thinking that my journey should start no later than 9:00 a.m.?

What do you think, and what have you done that worked for you?

Taxi $15 dollars.

Take first bus to Epcot or DHS, then catch AKL bus Leave 90 minute early.

I would take whichever bus came first - Epcot, DHS, AK, then transfer to AKL.

I did it one time from VWL - we took the AK bus and luckily an AKL bus was waiting.

If it were me, I'd drive. If I didn't have a car, then a taxi would be quickest and the least hassle.

I stayed at OKW and had reservations for Boma, but it was at night. We took the boat to DTD, and caught the bus. We made great connections. We planned on taking us 1 1/2 hours took us 40 minutes. We lucked out on the return trip too.

When people tell you they waited forever for a bus - it is usually because they don't want to stand on the bus. We got on so many busses because people were unwilling to stand. What's the difference if you are standing at a bus stop - or standing on the bus?? Just pay attention to what is going on in front of you in line for the bus.

We would take a taxi. The having to "switch" bus thing burns up a lot of daylight.

I'd take taxi. Switching buses takes a long time, especially if there are multiple stops.

I agree with the Taxi. Second choice would be to go to AKV before opening and spend 45-60 minutes (or almost 2 hours if extra magic that day) then take the bus over the AKL. No way I'd take the bus with a change just for a meal, esp breakfast.

I would probably just take a taxi.
This is why I personally never make breakfast resies at another resort. If you make dinner resies at another resort, you can usually just leave from where you are currently at (Epcot, DTD, MK, MGM, ETC) and go to dinner so you really aren't wasting a lot of time traveling.
IF you don't want to take a taxi, from OKW, I would probably take the AK bus & transfer or a DTD bus & transfer. The dinner at Boma is GREAT! have you considered scheduling boma for dinner on the day you are going to go AK? AK usually closes pretty early & you could have dinner around 5:45 or 6:00 at AKL after AK closes.

Do anything except xfer at DTD! Last August we were staying at OKW and had dinner ressies at Boma for 7:30. We left at 6:05 bcuz the buses had been VERY slow coming all week (it wasn't that they were full - they were just SLOW). Anyway, we caught a bus up to the HH and then took the water taxi to DTD figuring at least the water taxi had a regular schedule. WELL. We sat on that bench at DTD waiting for a bus to AKL forever. It finally came, then had to make a 2nd stop on the other side of DTD. We were 10 min. late for our ressie! It took us about 1 hour and 45 min. to make this transfer! But Boma is the only place I would go thru all of that for just to eat a meal!!!!!! It's the bomb! But we will never go to DTD to xfer again! Next July we are just going to stay at AKV - much more convenient that way!

Wouldn't do it unless I was taking a taxi. How much is your time worth. No matter what it will take you ATLEAST an hour if your lucky. A taxi will take 10 minutes.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think the verdict is in and we will just take the taxi. I'm one of those people that do not like to be late. So I would probably sit and fret thourghout the "waiting for the bus" routine. Not the the feelings I want when I am on vacation. $15 or so, well worth it. Especially since we will divide that three ways.

Don't be late! The Disney Bus made us late, over 1 1/2 hrs wait from Magic Kingdom. I had tried to call, could not get through to the Dining line. When we arrive, in a dead run... the desk said, "Sorry"... I said, "You're Kidding, Right!" About that time, someone else from the bus walked in, I said, " please tell her, about what a slow bus driver in training we had", they did and we sat down with a pager. It was just two of us. I would have been horrified if we were on our large family trip. This is a must do restaurant for us.

This is what I would do, we don't take taxis as there are always at least 5 of us and we have to get the van taxi which is expensive and sometimes really slow coming.
I did a few adrs at different resorts on our last 2 trips and had no trouble with the bus service. I left about 1.25 hours before our scheduled time and was never late.
