Okay I know I have seen on here where some folks get MYW passes with non exp. to use for 2 or 3 trips. I know that AP's are the best deal compared to MYW passes if you plan on going to the parks more than 7-10 days a year but I am trying to also SAVE SOME MONEY...since we went three times this year and the year before. We had our first AP's this past year. They expire on Sat. We got 7 days out of them last Aug. then 7 again in Nov. and then 5 in Jan. and 14 in July. So we used those babies. NOW.....we are going back in Nov. and staying at CBR (saving points for next summer) for 7 nights. I have MYW passes with 7 days left....park hopping and non expiring. We plan on going next summer and staying HOPEFULLY at BCV for 7 or 8 nights. I was thinking that I might be able to use these tickets for both trips. I would like to get suggestions of things you do when you use MYW over a couple of trips. We have 3 kids....ages 17, 14 and 9. We loved SAB AT BCV....and I think we could easily do a a couple of non park days ...sleeping in, and pool time. We tried to get some pool time in each day when we were there this July for 6 nights. I am thinking of not using AP's next summer since we know that we WILL ONLY GO NEXT JULY. We are only going to Disney once in 2009SO.....................if we only use 3 days in Nov. for parks.....and save 4 for next summer.....I would like ideas of what others do on trips with MYW passes that do LESS PARK action on some trips. THANKS.

IF weather was nice you could do a WP or DQ. I would ask if Disney lets you convert a single day ticket into an AP after you have used it. If so, if your kids like it, the AP is only $125 or so and would be good for Nov and next summer. You could get the 7 day Universal/IOA online pass for $89 or so and do several days there and even get by with one less WDW day on your MYW tickets.

I would also suggest the US/IOA pass. It's a great deal and much cheaper than buying DW APs. It would allow you to explore those parks on these trips before going back (possibly) to WDW APs down the road.

We also like to go mini-golfing (your DVC membership gives you a great discount), spend time at Downtown Disney, pool hop and explore the other resorts. If your kids aren't monorail veterans you could go explore the monorail resorts (pool hopping too, maybe?) and take a ride up front. Oh, and what about the campfire/movie at Fort Wilderness? That's fun! And the boat rentals on Bay Lake/7 Seas Lagoon! It's much more fun over there than at the other resorts. You could also rent a surrey bike at the Boardwalk and spend some time riding around Crescent Lake.

You know my older son wants to go to Universal really bad. We might do that in Nov. for a day....which would mean one less day used on those 7 day MYW passes too. :thumbsup2

Universal has a deal for like 99 for a week....you could go for a few days.
What about the water parks.

I don't do the parks on arrival or departure day....and usually 1 day in the middle. I think you could stretch those out....but I enjoy taking a pool day and totally just chilling out....taking advantage of community hall activities.

I'm trying to decide what to do in future trips as well for tickets. We just finished a three trip year with AP's. Next summer we are going to Vero for 5 nights, so no tickets needed. We are planning on a five-night October 2009 trip where we will need tickets. We will probably go again the following June as well, so the AP may be the way to go again.

The 10 MYW w/WP and no expiration is inviting as well since they now have 10 wp entries (when did that happen, I thought it used to be 6?). With our current vacation pattern of SUN-Thurs stays we could really stretch those tickets a pretty long way. In theory we could do two park days, two water park days and a resort day and make the tickets last five trips. The only problem is that we would have to stick to a fairly strict plan and I prefer to do what i please when I please and wouldn't like to be that restricted.

When we buy AP's though, I feel like i have to try to get as many trips to WDW during the 12 month window as possible which keeps me from deciding to go to Vero during that time which my DW really enjoys.

Obviously your aren't alone in struggling with which passes are the better way to go..

I just bought 6 day non expiry plus WP MYW tickets before the prices went up... This is a good 'break even' deal for me... I figure we will use up 6 water park visits and 6 theme park visits in about 4 years...

We are also a family of 5 and we decided to buy the 10d/ph/wp&m/ne tickets (that's a mouthful). This way, we got 3 vacations out of the park entries, and lots of extra wp&m entries to use up after we go for APs next time.

Otherwise, I would have bought premium APs and would have to buy these every time. I figure we might alternate the AP and 10d tickets to maximize the waterpark entries and eliminate the need to buy PAPs.

FYI: we didn't like the restriction of having only one "blow out" day at a time. We really missed being able to drop in to a park only at night. Just made us plan our park days more strictly. I made sure we didn't have any ADRs during park days just did QS to save time.

That being said, we had a trip that was 6 days and we alternated WP and Parks with no visits on arrival day and departure day. This was still very busy and we didn't miss anything. :thumbsup2

It would have worked out pretty much even for us with the cost of APs but we didn't realize we would do 3 trips within the 1 year time span. But now we have the wp&m entries to us up so really we came out ahead.

It remains to be seen if we go for the 10d tickets again after having the APs this year. But we're pretty new to WDW and our kids are young and can't "go all out" for those park days. Once they're older we might find the 10d tickets work great. If you use them well, they could last a long time. I'm sure there are lots of really great non-park things to do, I have a long list.

If you need an extra day, plan to attend a MVMCP or P&P party. It's half the price of a one day ticket and you can enter MK after 4pm. Also, seaworld has some great deals for multi-day and multi-park tickets. We might try this next trip.

For Nov. we will arrive on a Thursday night so no park that day and we depart on Thanksgiving Night the following Thursday so we have no plans to be in the crowded parks that day either. I am thinking of maybe doing the Christmas party on that Friday the 21st...so we would not need to use a park pass that day. I think we would at least use 3 in Nov. leaving 4 for July next year.

How do those water parks and more work on the MYW???? We went to TL twice this past trip and BB once. Last summer once to each so the PAP was great. Oh and we hit DQ once this time and 2 times last summer. Thanks

If you buy a 6 day with water park and more you also get 6 admissions to WP's/DQ

Oh so really you could equate that to 16 park days?? I mean if you did 6 water parks and 10 regular parks? Is that 6 admissions total..divided up among DQ, BB and TL. SO you could do 4 water park days and 2 DQ days??

Sorry...

If you buy a 10 day pass... You get 10 Theme Park days plus 10 admission to TL/BB or DQ

If u add on WP you get the number of days Theme Park plus the same number of days for WP option...

Our APs expire in Dec, and I'm doing the AP vs. 10 day/ph and wp and more/ne debate too. I think I'm going to get 2 10 day tickets and believe the waterpark options will last us for several years. DH has one park day left on a ne ticket and 5 water park options. Our Feb trip is to Vero Beach and I'm trying to decide if we'll stay in Orlando on Friday and Saturday -- maybe visit Universal. Decisions, decisions...

It is hard to decide. Those AP's are expensive when you get the PAP. We are not going 2 or 3 times a year anymore...just once. At least that is what I trying to adhere to. LOL I also want to get off that commando style of touring the parks on trips. We have gotten a lot better but we really enjoy the resorts too....so I want to not always be exhausted on our way home from early mornings/late nights and all. That is why I am thinking of stretching out these 7 day passes over our Nov. and next summer's trip but I have to admit I loved having AP's. You don't feel like you have to spend a lot of hours at the park to get your money's worth so to speak. Plus there are a few perks with having that AP. We used the DDE card a lot too.

Just an FYI...even though the party does not start until 7 or 8pm they will let you into the MK as early as 4pm with your party ticket (no other ticket needed).

yeah but the more I punch the numbers....if you go each summer and can adjust dates to fit...then getting AP's is cheaper. I think if you use 6-7 park days in a year....then AP is cheaper????? Especially if you time your next trip the following year to use those AP's again. UGH

Yes... It's definitely more Cost Effective if you can squeeze in multiple trips and go the parks most of the time...

I go multiple times a year but sometimes don't go to any parks... That's why the AP doesn't work for me...

Well part of me is leaning toward getting new AP's in Nov. (NOT PAP's this time). My friend brought up a good point....she said "you know you are going for a week in Nov. and you are planning another 7-9 nights in July next year, so it makes since to get AP's for that many nights" Those two trips I am firm on and if I wait to next summer to get AP's to use next summer and summer of 2010 that is a ways off to determine if we will ALL GO TO DISNEY 2010 since my dd willl have just completed year 1 of college. This Nov. and next July are for sure. So I will probably hang onto those 7 day MYW passes. I know they can be used whenever and they might come in handy for a last min. quick "BONUS trip" as I call them...... one year that we don't have AP's.
