Ok, well all of us aren't picky... just DH. :rotfl2: He's a burger guy. I was wondering if there are some must eats... We're in the World for 14 days and have the DDP. We're not fancy eaters, more just everyday stuff. We'll certainly drop in to Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, 50's Prime Time Diner, WCC... What other restaurants would you experts suggest?

Sci Fi is fun and has a great burger. CS options with decent burgers are Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays in MK. Flame Tree Barbeque in AK is good for ribs and BBQ chicken. I've heard that Tusker House is good, we loved it when it was CS. If you can get in 'Ohana is good

Beaches and Cream at BC have great burgers....

Other must stops on our list are Teppan Edo at Epcot ( offer both Strip Steak and Filet for the meat lover ) and O'Hana at the Poly which offers meat on a spit ( turkey, beef, pork, chicken ).

Nearly every TS has a steak option. Several also have a fancy Kobe-type hamburger as well. Sauces can be left off of any steak if he finds that off-putting. If there is a side order on a different dish that he would prefer, most restaurants will allow that swop as well.

Captain's Grill at BC/YC comes to mind as more "classic American" food; so does Turf Club at SSR. Ohana is great if he'll take grilled steak pieces from a skewer (3 dipping sauces are on the table). Biergarten is a buffet but most picky eaters seem to do very well there.

How about Trail's End at the Fort Wilderness campground? They have lots of simpler choices.

Enjoy yourselves.

:)

liberty tree tavern, captain's grille, grand floridian cafe, ohana, cape may cafe, big river grille, chefs de france, sci fi, whispering canyon.

i'm the picky/allergic one and these are some great options for picky people. keep in mind, no matter where you eat--they will try their best to adapt a meal to you. whether it's changing sides, leaving off the sauce or toppings, putting it on the side, without spices... they're very good about this!!

Glad the PPs have been able to suggest additional dining venues for you. Just wanted to clarify your statement that I have hightlighted. I really hope you mean that you are making/have made ADRs for these places. You just can't drop in and hope to get a table, especially for the more popular spots. Unless you are willing to take the chance that you will be turned away.

I am a picky burger type person. I like Plaza Restaurant, Coral Reef, Sci Fi, 50's Prime Time, Le Cellier, and Teppan Edo for lunches and dinners. I haven't branched out too far from those. I don't do change well. I am trying to add in one new table service with each trip.

Wow, are you sure you aren't married to my DH? :rotfl:

My DH is about as picky as they come -- meat and potatoes period, very few veggies, no fish, etc. -- and we have eaten TONS of places with no problems, including Boma dinner, Biergarten, Coral Reef and other places where the food is a bit more "exotic." Honestly, the only place I have not been brave enough to try is the one is Morocco because I just don't think he could do it, lol. Almost every single TS in WDW has a steak option, and they are GREAT about leaving off weird sauces and veggies that my DH would not touch with a 10-foot pole.

If he truly will only eat burgers, then you might consider all your TS reservations for lunchtime, as most places have burgers for lunch but not necessarily for dinner.

That pretty much describes me! However, I have never had trouble finding places to eat. As PPs have said, almost every TS has a steak option. As one of those picky eaters here are some of my favorites:

  • 'Ohana
  • LeCellier
  • Via Napoli (everyone likes Italian, no?)
  • Libery Tree tavern
  • Captain's Grille
  • plus, most buffets (such as Crystal Palce, Chef Mickey's etc.) will have a meat carving station and plenty of options for the picky eater

I am VERY picky. I ask for sauce on side. I sub fries, mashed or baked potatoes for the strange stuff they try to serve me! We are eating at Coral Reef. I love the grilled chicken and ask for no sauce and sub mashed for the spaetzle(?). Kona, Capt Grille and Grand Flordian Cafe, I always get sauces on the side (I never use them but the servers kind of make me feel like I should try them!) We are also eating at Capt Jacks. They have pot roast and mash potatoes! YUM! I wouldn't try the 2 credit places except Yachtsmen or LeCellier. They are too fancy. Oh ya and the Wave you can't even get fries or mashed. They tried to tell me the white bean mashed was the same thing as mashed potato. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Have a great trip!!
