We are thinking of planning a trip starting the Saturday before Thanksgiving and returning on Thanksgiving day. Does anyone have any experience on how crowded the parks are that week? Is it decorated for Christmas? Any special events?

We will be there at the same time and I'm curious as well. Does anyone know??? I know it can't be any more crowded than it was the week before Easter.

About decorations...I did read that the Osborne lights will be up on November 23rd and sound like they're really beautiful.

Crowd levels at other sites start out at a 5 on the Sat/Sun before Thanksgiving and go up to an 8/9 by Thanksgiving.

For your trip, you will probably notice medium crowds that will build as the week progresses.

I am doing the same thing, except we are leaving the Friday after Thanksgiving, late in the evening so we can get a 2/3 day in one of the parks, we hope.

In my experience, MK, MGM and AK are busy from the Monday thru to the Saturday after.

We did Epoct on ThxGiving itself and it was OK.

I don't know about crowd levels, but I know the holiday decorations do not go up until the day after Thanksgiving. I think Osbourne Lights start the day before Thanksgiving and MVMCP does not start until the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

When I was at WDW 2 years ago the weekend before Thanksgiving, all the decorations were up. However, unfortunately none of the Christmas-type shows had begun yet-Candlelight Processional, Epcot Holiday Storytellers, Christmas tree Lighting Ceremony, etc. But I know people around me, who'd been there all the week before Thanksgiving were commenting on how crowded it was getting. I plan to be there the same time as you and I think it's going to be pretty crowded, especially the closer you get to the actual day of Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the info. We are going Sunday through Tuesday AFTER Thanksgiving day. We know we won't be able to do alot of rides, I manily want to see the lights, so we are planning for MK and MGM. Anyday better than the other for these parks.

Also, does anyone know if Blizzard Beach is open late November? We want to "finish" that park while there as well.

I just booked two nights at the campground.

We are also going at that time ...Arriving on Thanksgiving and leaving the wensday after. Thanksgiving night we are either 1.See Wishes at Magic Kingdom or 2. See illuminations at Epcot . Friday we are going to Sea World , then Saturday i figured we would go to Epcot because it is the biggest park to swallow up the crowds. Sunday i was thinking of getting tickets to MVMCP but I really to want to be stuck in a crowd so it is kind of iffy. Can anybody tell me how my plan sounds . thank you all.
