Suggestions for Seniors at DL/DCA?

Anybody have any suggestions for seniors in particular?

Just convinced my 70+ year-old parents to join us at DL/DCA Dec 13-17. Hooray! I'm really looking forward to watching the two of them and my 5 year-old DS live a little magic.

The weather should be temperate to cool (high 67, low 50). Both get around well, but I'm putting my Mom on a walking regimen to get her ready. LOL!

Right now, we've got reservations for a "family suite" (aka two connected rooms) at the Desert Inn & Suites. The walk looks very reasonable. Dad's diabetic, but not insulin-dependent, so as long as we keep on a decent eating schedule I don't expect that to be an issue. Plus we are snack packers.

Any and all suggestions welcome and appreciated!!

My mother (70+) has been going with the family (sister, brother-in-law, nieces (now 11 and 13), and me) at least three times a year for the last six or seven years. Although we live locally (45 minutes from Disneyland), we get a hotel room within walking distance of the park; this way she/we can go back and rest in the early afternoon. My mother does not ride every ride, she skips those low to the ground (Autopia) or rough (Indy and Matterhorn). Other than adjusting our speed of walking for her (we stroll and not rush anywhere) she does just fine. When my nieces were younger she would wait with the youngest while the rest of us rode a ride. Also, she would take them back to the hotel earlier than we "adults" wanted to return. The girls got a good nights rest and we enjoyed the park at night. I think that as long as you remember your parents' level of energy and stamina is different than yours you will be okay.
