A group of friends and I are hitting Disneyland in September for the first ever Disneyland 1/2 marathon. I have been trying to do my research; however, I still have some questions.

1. What options are there for a good pasta dinner the night before the race? Is there, by chance, a Spaghetti Factory nearby? What other options are safe? Nothing to daring -- don't want to risk stomach issues the day of the race.

2. What options are there for a great celebratory dinner after the race? We normally do the Melting Pot after local races; however, I am just not familiar with the restaurants and the distances in CA.

Any help is appreciated!

You need to head over to our WISH board. that is where the "training" threads are. I know they do have a meet set up for "carb loading" the night before!

I didn't check the WISH board, but DTD has an Italian restaurant, Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria, and I believe Napolini is their to-go counter. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a hoppin' place the night before the marathon.

There's also Wine Country Trattoria in DCA. Not sure if the pizza joints within either park might have pasta...?

Good luck to you!

Bucca di Beppo is right down Harbor, near Chapman Ave. There used to be a Spaghetti Station, but it's gone now.

WOW, I didn't realize this restaurant was a chain...? The one in Seattle has long lines and sometimes hours-long waits. Supposed to be fabulous food, though!

We ate there once and did not have a good experience. The music was too loud and we could barely hear each other. They did give samples while you waited and take you on a tour of the kitchen before they seat you. Portions are huge though. They also cook with a lot of garlic.

(Laughing at myself because) A LOT OF GARLIC? Sounds like my kinda place! puckerup:

Not a big fan of loud music, though. We had a miserable time at the Hard Rock Cafe in Maui, and were told that many people complain about the loud volume, but "hey, it's the Hard Rock Cafe!" Apparently ringing ears come free with the greasy aftertaste...

We ate Buca for the first time last weekend and we loved it! We loved the atmosphere and the food. They do cook with alot of garlic but so does my mom so it did not bother us. There was so much food! We are definately going here at home and also when we return to Disneyland/L.A area again.

There IS a spaghetti factory very near by in fact. It's on Harbor and so is Disneyland so you just go up Harbor for a while into Fullerton and you're there. It's really very close. 10 minutes maybe.

Thanks! I may push for Spaghetti Factory. I saw that there was one somewhat nearby, but I didn't have a feel for the scale.

I appreciate the help.

Yes, north on Harbor and it shares the parking lot with the Fullerton Amtrak station. Make a right turn after going under the train track bridge.
