It's time for a new spin. I've tried the valued, loyal employee routine for years. Although I love what I do, I seem to have the worst luck with companies going out of business.

My first job when I was in school (a mere 15 years old) was working in a family run bakery. The owner skipped town one day.
Over the course of the years I've worked:

A holding company that went bankrupt
A major airline that I worked for 18 1/2 years and loved - you guessed it - belly up
A small family run travel agency that had to close it's doors when the profits were harder to come by.
Now a large corporation I currently work is downsizing by a ton.
Although I dodged the bullet for the past almost two years, I knew the day would come and it has.

It is time for something new. What do you think about an anti-resume - I could list the places I've worked that have gone under - then sit home and collect money to keep me away. Maybe I could even make a little bonus once in a while and get paid to work for a competitor.

It could work - the possiblilty of embelishing has crossed my mind. I could add stock advisor to Martha Stewart or financial advisor to Enron - after all - who could check.

I'm up for suggestions to add to my anti-resume - anybody want to play? :charac2:

LOL! Employers seem to like #s - maybe you could figure out the odds in terms of how long it will take for your new employer to go out of business?

I admire your sense of humor - and I wish you the best of luck at finding a new position that you really enjoy.

Don't forget to include your dabbles in the film industry, with writing credits on such films as Battlefied Earth, Ishtar and Waterworld. Then of course is your stint in marketing when you invented New Coke!

You invented the Post-It note! Oh wait, that was Remy and Michelle! :teeth:
