We have a trip planned from October 10 - 18. We will be traveling down in a 35 foot motor home. It will be me, hubby, and 6 almost 7 year old daughter and our 2 boston terriers. This is not our first Disney trip but is our first "camping" trip and first time at the Fort. We will be bringing a golf cart and do not have to be near comfort station.

I am looking for a site that has shade, we will fit comfortably, and our neighbors are not on top of us.

I have been researching the loops trying to figure out what to request. I am thinking either 1600 or 1800 along the canal.

Has anyone stayed in those sites or have other suggestions that we might like.

This site has been a great help in planning!!!

The full hook ups might be a little tight for your rig, in my opinion. The majority of those sites are relatively open. I have seen people with larger setups such as yours in the full hook up sites so its not out of the question. I would recomend you to look at some of the premium sites, bigger concrete area and a better chance at shade and shrubs to block you from neighbors. We always stay at the back end of the 800 loop on the outside of the loop, sites 845 and 847 are the ones we typically stay in.

Actually full hook up was the only thing available when I booked. But I had looked at maybe changing if premium became available. But decided that if it came down to upgrade to premium if it became available or to add another night at full hookup. We added another night when after weeks of checking one opened up.

Love the pictures of your bostons!
I got my first Boston when I was about 6. The two we have now are my 5th and 6th. We have a 9 year old male, Roscoe, and a almost 1 year female, Jasmine.

Thanks for the tips I also posted this on **********.

This trip will definitely be an adventure. We are either going to love it or hate it and I have no idea which.

Please see March trip report for our adventure trying to get into full hook up site with our 37 ft fifth wheel. Very tight! We eneded up off the pad and having to be dug out of the sand!!!! Would recommend a premium site! If not able then look for a site that doesn't have too many obstacles for backing in - that was our problem - trash cans, light post etc... Good luck!

You are very welcome and thank you. Wow, 5th and 6th? These are only our 2nd set. The little guy has been gone for about 2 years now and we almost lost his sister due to depression. But, Hope is going strong now at 12 1/2 years old. :0) We will always have BT's, great dogs.

Doesn't the 1 year old drive your Roscoe crazy?

You'll love it! It's the best way to come to Disney and you get to bring your fur kids, what can be better than that?

My parents have a 36 foot class A and their favorite Fort spots are the Full Hookup sites. They like 1800 the best, especially along the back side near the canal, more quiet and relaxing back there. They have a toad and don't have a hard time parking in front of their rig, though I do think they park sideways rather than straight in with it nose to nose with their rig.

Roscoe is not Jasmine's biggest fan. He tolerates her, barely and she LOVES him! During the day Roscoe stays in our laundry room where he has a basket and there is doggy door into our fenced in backyard. Jasmine has been kenneled everyday until this week we have just started leaving her out with Roscoe. And since everyday this week he has peed on her basket I would say he is not happy with the new arrangements.

My parents have a 37 1/2 ft 5th wheel and we had some challenges getting into the 1900 loop, but we got it with some help. We had our wheels on the very back of the pad and the overhang of the back in the sand. It was a little tight, but it worked out perfect for us. We were in the shade on the back side of the loop (Wagon Wheel Lane) and as it was fairly close to the comfort station (a cut through the woods), but we were a little far to the bus stop.

Oh my goodness...love it, I can picture it. Our vet told us to get a puppy, but I don't think her or I are ready for it. I think you just confirmed our thoughts, Hope wouldn't tolerate a puppy, she is "Princess Hope of Hopetopia." LOL!. Spoiled my kids, Nah! LOL! Puppies are so cute though!

I hope things get better with Roscoe and Jasmine. Maybe being tight quarters in the MH will help?

I've seen 40 foot coaches in the full loops. Just be sure to tell them your size. 1600/1800 by the canal are our favorite sites in there.

We have a 32 foot MH with three slides. Honestly, some of the premium sites are narrower than some of the full-hook up ones. We do like the pads on the premium sites, but don't feel they are worth the extra cost. As suggested, be sure to tell them how big your MH is. For a pet loop we like the 1700s - close to the Meadow, bus stop, etc., but they do have a more "open" feel in that area. We have yet to stay in an area we didn't like.

We have a 38' motorhome which we have put into several sites in 1800 (our favorite) and 1600 and 1900 as well - without a problem. When we were in 300 we had a rough time getting in - just depends on the site. As noted, some premiums are tougher than some full. Remember that the person assigning sites is looking at length, awnings, slides etc but does not have a feel for the particular site and its position on the loop - curve - obstacles - a neighbor's truck or someone's holiday decorations that got too close to the road ! Most sites are doable with some maneuvering and a bit of colorful language.
