My family has DVC points and I am using some for a girls trip to Disney this July. We want to stay in the Boardwalk Villas for the first time. There are two of us, and we would probably opt for a standard view studio (less points). Any specific room suggestions? What are the studios like? I know to ask for a room close to the elevators. Any other tips/suggestions for what to do/where to eat, etc? Thanks!

Welcome to the Dis-Boards.

It may be too late for you to get a standard view studio for July. You are already inside 7 months which opens the BWV reservations up to all other DVC owners. You will probably be able to still get a preferred view.

Don't ask for a specific room (because you are bound to be disappointed, the chances of getting a specific room is slim). Instead ask for "close to the elevators" or "quiet pool" view if that's important to you. We always ask for away for the elevators because that gets us closer to MGM for a quicker walk.

There are lots of great places on the Boardwalk to eat. Everything from high end like the Flying Fish Cafe to a place to buy pizza slices. Our favorite is the ESPN Club which has the best wings anywhere.

you can call and try for a standard view, but you may have to settle for preffered(if they still have any). If that is the case, take a shot and ask for the Boardwalk view, although these will also go fast. The room have 2 queen beds and a mini kitchen(micro, Small frig). They are a good size compaired to the non DVC resorts. If you can't get the Boardwalk, try the Beach Club Villas across the lake. Nicer pool, short boat ride or walk to The Boardwalk and Epcot or MGM.

The Boardwalk Villa studios have one queen bed and one full-size sleeper sofa, a table and 2 chairs, a kitchenette with microwave, small fridge, toaster and coffee maker. On the DVC public website you can view a 360 degree tour of a studio. I can't get to that site at the moment so I can't post a link directly to the Boardwalk page but here's how you can navigate there yourself, assuming you can get to the site at some point!

Go to www.disneyvacationclub.com and once the site finishes loading, click on the Resorts link (it says something like "see our resorts"). On the menu that drops down, select Boardwalk.

Once that loads there will be a link for the 360-degree tour.

Wow! Thank you for all of that information! We are going to try to book ASAP and hope we can still get a BWV studio!
