Hi - We'll be at Epcot with 3 kids - 2, 4 and 9 yrs. What do you suggest are the best things to do with them? The 9 yr old is a real thrillseeker, so I'd imagine my DH and I might have to split up a little to save time and the little ones from getting bored.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Karen

We had a lot of fun at "The Living Seas" and at both East & West Innoventions. My 9yo loved Innoventions - we spent hours there.
Also its a good place to go if it starts raining.

I would do the Kidcot Stations in the World Showcase - fun and free!

In past years, my two kids have been 11 months and 4, 2 and 5, and 3 and 6 when we went to Epcot. The things they liked best:

The fountains (all of them -- the big one, the one in front, the little squirty ones that got them wet, the upside down one outside the Imagination Pavilion, etc) -- if you are there at night, watch the main fountain on the hour (I think) for a really cool light & sound display. Stopped mine in their tracks every time.

The KidCot stops (again, all of them, every trip, repeatedly)

The movie at the France pavilion

The Living Seas

The Circle of Life movie at the Land (the boat ride was okay too)

Any food stop at all

The interactive displays at the Wonders of Life and Imagination pavilions -- I spent a lot of time there with the little one while my husband and the older one went on the bigger rides. There's a suprising amount to keep a 2 year old occupied, especially at the Life pavilion!

Test Track (the older one rode it each time -- she's tall and made the height cut off even on our first trip -- and the younger one liked playing with the stuff in the waiting area)

Ice Station Cool.

They did NOT like:
Universe of Energy (too long and over their heads the first trip)
Cranium Command (it is a great show, but they just didn't like it)
Maelstrom (terrified the heck out of them both)
The Canada movie (no seats, they had a hard time seeing, the little one wanted to be held, which is a killer on the back)
Food Rocks (way, way, way too loud)

Hope that helps!

I agree the fountains and Living seas for the little ones. My DS 4 loved those. The 9 year old will probably like Honey I shrunk the audience, but beware it might be too intense for the younger ones.

Thanks all! Now to find the time to fit all these fun things into our schedule. No big deal about skipping the movie in Canada - we see Canada everyday at home!

Karen

P.S. Can anyone tell me how to get those count down to your trip things I see on so many other's posts?

Took my DD at 2 1/2. Loved making the mask everywhere...it is hanging on her wall at home. It allowed us to check every country out...and snack along the way.

The ride at Mexico is great. Especially when it is hot. Loved the Living Seas.

I read about being a junior chef from Nestle... http://wdwig.com/rev_jrchef.htm

Hit England earlier in the day to see Pooh and friends and Mary Poppins. They leave by 5pm. There is a courtyard behind the children's shop they hang out in.

Have fun,
Karen

Our kids (1 and 3) loved the fountains best--the ones they could play in, and also the big one and the funny squirting one by Honey I Shrunk the Audience. They also loved Ice Station Cool (first time the baby had ever tried soda!); the 3-year-old talks about "having a sample of all the sodas" every single day!

The kids also enjoyed the Mexico boat ride and Journey into Imagination with Figment (though this one was kind of loud and a tad scary for the little one in some places). DS 3 was tall enough to go on Test Track but he wouldn't go because the cars were SOO loud whizzing by on the outside (he loved Splash Mountain and BTMRR at MK, though!).

Your 9 year old will probably love Test Track and Mission: Space. BTW, if you or DH go on Mission: Space with the 9-year-old, the rest of you might want to wait in the nice waiting area (go in through the store and keep walking till you reach it). There's a fun play area for the little ones, plus some interactive games.

Have lots of fun!

Don't forget the train in Germany - all the kids love that! As well as the talking fountain - I always be sure to stop there for a drink. They will enjoy the candy sculpture in Japan, and the living statues in France. The Viking Ship in Norway is a great way for them to run off a little energy.

"Make your own Chocolate Chip Cookies" at the Food Pavilon. My 3yo DN had a blast helping to make the cookies, he was in charge of adding the chips. We got great pictures! They do it once an hour or so. no reservation or anything, and it's free. Kids get to eat the cookies they "make" (they make the dough and by "magic" the cookies bake in 30 seconds, they have the kids close their eyes and the people running it take out a fresh baked batch that's ready). May be a bit to "young" for you 9 yo but your little ones may have fun. Good cookies too, bring milk :)
