Okay, last year we had breakfast at H&V (Minnie Character Breakfast) and we loved it. We had dinner at Chef Mickeys and it was wonderful. We also attended the Hoop De Doo and it was fun. And we thought Fulton's Crab House was spectacular! So now we're going again in August '03 and we need suggestions for dinner. DW and DD6 and I (DH) like just about anything. We already booked the Princess Storybook breakfast at Norway in Epcot. A friend suggested the seafood buffet at Norway for dinner so we are going to try that one night. We're staying for six nights so we're leaning toward the Luau (did I spell that right?) 'cause we think our DD6 would love it. Is there another seafood restaurant in Downtown Disney we could eat at when we go there one night? Is there another Chef Mickey's kind of character dinner anywhere? Thanks in advance fellow Disney nuts!:smooth:

I wouldn't exactly call Akershus a seafood buffet. Just "fishy" in a smoked salmon sort of way. Mashed rutabagas (sp.), swedish meatballs and lots of cold deli type items. Not that it's bad --I just wanted to make sure your expectations were correct so you won't be let down.
Cape May Clambake may be a little more along the lines of what you were thinking.

If you are looking for a Disney restaurant, California Grill or Flying Fish might be good. We just came home (4/25) from a 5-night stay at BCV and during our stay wanted to eat off site a couple nights to try something different. We had great seafood at both Landry's Seafood and Bonefish restaurants. At Bonefish I had two twin coldwater lobster tails for $33! They were fantastic. My son (9) loves salmon but they did not have a kid portion, so they gave him a regular portion for $3 off! They were very accommodating. At Landry's I had cedar plank salmon; again, excellent. My only "gripe" at Landry's was that they include a salad that they bring in a big bowl to be distributed by you at your table and I thought the salad could have been better. At that point I was concerned at what our entree would be like, but happily we were all very pleased!

I hope this helps!

My favorite place for seafood is Flying Fish. Here's their Kid's menu and here's the regular menu .

Cape May Cafe is also very good, with a good selection of seafood and non-seafood items both. It's more casual than FF, which might be easier with a 6 yo. I think they have one of the best dessert buffets anywhere. You have to see it to believe it.

Silly me ~ I do not know how I forgot this because it was one of the best meals I had during our stay. On Thursday, 4/24 at Narcoosee's I had a fabulous scallop dish that was served with sun dried tomato and spinach striped tortellini. We've had some great meals at Narcoosee's recently (in December, too). There was a break for us in going there because we were less than happy with some meals and decided to give it another try in December, and we were glad that we did!

Cedar Plank Salmon is the signature dish at Artist's Point restaurant in the Wilderness Lodge. It's SO good! If you want shellfish-type seafood for a good price, I thought that Joe's Crab Shack outside of Disney was great! The atmosphere was fun, the food was good, and the price was very inexpensive :) You can get 10% off your meal with your AAA card there, too. I can't remember exactly where this was, but it was close to Disney.

Narcoossee at the GF has many fish selections and the food is excellent. It's a pretty spot too looking out at the lake.

I would certainly go back to Fultons Crab House. Fab!!
