Suggestions for dinner for 15?

We're going to WDW in October for MIL's 70th birthday. We're taking her to dinner one night to celebrate her bday (doing Chef Mickeys), but she wants to treat her kids to dinner another. What would be a good suggestion for 15? Cal Grille, Narcoosees and Citricos are out. There will be 3 little girls in the party but not really looking for a character meal, we'll be doing enough of those.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have never been but what at the Hoop de Doo or Whispering Canyon? Sounds like a great time. Enjoy!!! :sunny:

Boma at AKL would be an excellent choice, moderate pricing/buffet.

Chefs de France or the Biergarten in Germany would also be wonderful.
Alfredo's could easily handle your party size. (table setups good in all these places).

If you wanted to eat at Jiko, with the little girls, maybe you could reserve the wine room, they could shut the door and then if the girls get restless they wouldn't disturb other diners (incase that is what you were worried about).

I would second Ohanas. There were two large groups there in Jan when I was there and they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Thanks for all the replies. I was thinking possibly one of the buffets also. Not too expensive and easy to handle the group of 15. Didn't want to do the top shelf restaurants as MIL is paying and picky eater DH didn't enjoy Ohana. Thought a buffet might please all palettes. We've done Chef Mickeys and Cape May. Any other ones out there that you've enjoyed?

Thanks again.

We had 11 for Cape Mays Clambake at Beach Club Resort. It was wonderful.

I'd do Ohana or one of the buffets. It takes a remarkable server to handle a party of 15 well. Often tables with large parties get their food at different times, the server has trouble keeping up with drink refills, etc. I'm not saying you WILL get poor service at one of the order off the menu places, but I think it is more likely than not that you will be a "challenge" that your server may not be up to. For a special occasion, I'd stick with a place where there should be no service problems.

First thing that came to my mind was O'hana's. Party atmosphere and I'm sure everyone would enjoy watching the kids do the coconut races and hoola hoops. Also, all you can eat, but not buffet.

We did a party of 14 at Teppanyaki - infants to MIL (who also paid!) and loved it.

We celebrated my husband's birthday at WDW last November. Trying to get PS for a group of 15 was very frustrating. We finally decided on O'Hana, but Disney dining wouldn't make a PS at any restaurant for the size group at one table unless we agreed to eat at 5 PM. So instead we made two PS for 8:30 for separate tables. When we all arrived and checked in to be seated, I spoke to the maitre'd and explained that we were all together and that I wanted the check for the entire group. He went out of his way to get us two tables side by side so that we shared the same waiter and he could put us all on one check. But the really best part of the story is that the tables were next to the window in the far right hand corner of the dining room. We hadn't been seated for ten minutes when---YOU GUESSED IT---the lights were dimmed and Wishes started. It was the perfect spot to see the fireworks and I ended up looking like the best birthday party planner ever! LOL I couldn't have done that well even if I had planned it!!! It will always be a special memory for all of us.
