Does anyone have any recommendations for Marriott's Cypress Harbour? Like where to request to stay, which building, what floor, etc.? I wanted to put a request in, but needed to hear from you guys first.

Please let me know your suggestions. Thanks.

Maria

Bumping up cuz I need to know also....

hey, TiggerinNY, have you gotten any more info that I might want know also.....cant wait!!!

vellamint,

No...I don't have anymore info. I want to put in my request, but would love some suggestions. Looks like not too many people that stay at Cypress Harbour are into Disboards. Huh?? Oh well....Let's see what happens.

I'm getting sooo excited. I can't wait.

I have a question for you. I see you're either staying at HIFS or POR. My neighbor is thinking about both, but leaning towards HIFS. What are your pros and cons about it? Thanks for your help.

stayed there 4 years ago with brother in law & family, it was their timeshare week. no real bad location, nice property, very roomy, well kept. we are booked in for 10 nites in august and are looking forward to it. disney resorts really dont have anything to compare with the 2 bedroom villas @ 1400 sq ft. unless you stay at a DVC property. you will like cypress harbour very much

Dalton,

Thank you very much for your advice. Would you be able to e-mail or post your notes when you return? That would be great. I'm really excited about staying there. And I agree 100% about the 2/bedroom vs. hotel at Disney. You can't beat 1400 sq. ft. of room for kids to unwind in. A full working kitchen...don't get me wrong, I won't be cooking every night, but it'll be nice to have pizza at a regular table. Not to mention breakfast in my PJ's if I want to.

Hope to hear back from you in August. Have a great vacation.

Maria

I was just there in Feb. We requested Bld #52 but got #54 which was also good. We wanted to be closest to the Clubhouse pool and little store etc. towards the front of the resort. There is the island pool which is an easy walk from the clubhouse pool or you can request the Buildings in the #60's if that's the area you want. If you want to be closer to the Activity Center then you can request in that area. Can't remember the numbers for those but they'll be able to tell you. The activity center has the bikes and boats for rent, and the video games, etc. It is a short boat ride from the Buildings we were in and my kids age 10 &12 went there once or twice. There is a very small pool in that area also.

We were very pleased with our location (Bldg 52, 53, or 54) and it is the area I would request again. My kids liked that pool the best and also there was a lot of evening entertainment around there. Karoke and things like that.

It was a great resort. Very comfortable. The only thing that could have been improved was the size of the second bedroom. It was a little cramped but nothing we couldn't live with. The master on the other hand was huge.

Hope this helped!

HIFS sounds great because it is 3 separate bedrooms.....parents have privacy and children have bunks, tv, vcr, nintendo...also microwave and refrigerator. Free breakfast I am hearing is great although personally I dont care to fight a crowd first thing in the am. I havent stayed there yet but when in Orlando in 2000 drove past it many, many times....it is literally right outside WDW gates....very convenient.

POR is Disney!!! Supposed to be very lush and beautiful. The room is not nearly as large as HIFS but would have accommodated my family in the Alligator Bayou section because they have trundle beds. All Disney amenities....

All in all ..... I was leaning toward HIFS because 5 people in one room is a bit much and HIFS was less expensive per night AND included breakfast.....like I said above....my family does not do well with a crazy morning.

Let me know if you find out anything more about Cypress Harbour....would love some input on the childrens activities and Kids Nite Out.

JDM,

Thanks for your suggestions. My guys are going to be 7 and just about 4 when we go in October. Would you suggest buildings 52, 53, 54 for that age group? It would be nice to be by the store, but I'm not sure about the evening entertainment noise. My guys go to bed pretty early 8:30-9:00. What floor did you stay on? Are the upper floors better than the lower?

Thanks again.

Maria

We stayed on the second floor and I didn't notice noise to be a problem at all. All entertainment stops by 10pm, I'm sure in case the noise is bothering anyone.

I really liked that area. I don't know if the island pool would appeal more to your kid's ages or not. We only walked over there once and it didn't seem to be more of a kiddie pool to me, but I don't really remember.

I think you'll be very satisfied with the buildings I suggested. The store, pizza, and ice cream place is right there. Also, the clubhouse and pool area. All the units face one of the lakes. It is very nice. You'll like it...

We stayed at Cypress Harbour last July and absolutely loved it. We were in bldg 54 I believe, on the second floor. We watched the fireworks at sea world every night. Kids (7 & 4) loved it. We were very pleased with the property and tried to book it for next month, but it wasnt available through the timeshare, so we booked Marriott Grande Vista instead, which is just around the corner! Have a great time. You will love Cypress Harbour!;)
