I broke my pinky toe 2 weeks ago (slammed into a concrete step). I haven't been able to wear tennis shoes since, just flip flops. We're supposed to leave for DL in a week and there is NO way I can wear flip flops, even with two fit feet (which neither are really lol suffer from hallux limitus in the other foot).

Any suggestions on really comfortable shoes/sandals?

Ouch, so sorry! Skechers Go Walk, lots of room in the toe box. Learned about them on these boards and they've changed my life, seriously::yes::

Those look comfy! Even better, I can go down to Famous Footwear and try them on. Are they comfy without socks? I'm not a fan of going sockless and those little tiny ones for ballet flats drive me nuts (constantly having to dig them out of my shoe and pull them over my heel).

Yeah, I was going to suggest some orthopedic flip flops. I wear OlaKai Ohana flip flops everywhere. Wore them for 2 weeks at WDW last year and never had one problem with my feet. They are pricy but you can order them from Zappos and get them in 2 days and they have free returns if you don't like them.

You are singing my song:rolleyes1!!

I bought a pair of these to wear to the Parks after reading about them here on the Boards, and they are fabulous (for MY feet, anyway!)

I love everything about them (and I'm super picky about shoe comfort)!

Good luck--it is so hard to find the perfect "Park" shoes:)!

I really love all of the new wedges Crocs has. Just got the black Huarache ones and I swear they are so comfy. There might be better ones for a fractured toe though.

I just looked up the Go Walk's online, and I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between the different names. Is the base the same, and it's just the style that is different? Which style did you get? Thanks!

I have a couple of pairs, don't remember which version they are but they are slipons. They are super light weight and comfy. Got them specifically for Disney in Aug. I think some of the other versions might fit tighter or provide arch support but I only tried on the one style.

Check out flojos flip flip flops. Not only are they comfortable, but a pair has lasted me over 5 years. They have a lot more styles available now

I am here now with 2 broken toes and a couple broken foot bones......3 weeks ago.
I am switching between 4 pairs of sandals.
Nike walkers that don't touch my toes at all............and my toes are taped.
Naturaluzers
Clarks and one other pair, can't remember the name
The ones that feel the best have stiff bottoms so my toes don't bend too much and the ones that the material doesn't touch the toe at all.
I have been doing really well............just limping so as not to bend my toes or foot.
Good luch

Teva Mush flip flops. I just returned from 9 days in Orlando at Disney and Universal. I took 2 pair of Teva Mush and my feet felt great!

Yikes! I've had a broken pinky toe before and it is NOT fun! :( Like you said- flip flops are definitely not your best bet because no matter how well they fit, you're still having to lift all of the bones in your toes and that can be tiring/painful.

I would second the crocs idea. They have a ton of new designs, not just the original ugly ones. I like the Adrina flats and they are extremely comfortable.

You can't wear runners b/c of swelling? Or pain? Have you taped the pinky toe to the toe beside it? I've broken my pinky toe twice and I tell you it is very painful to walk when not taped. I had minimal to no pain when taped. You may want to consider getting a wheel chair midway through the day if you are super sore. I got hurt getting off the ride for Haunted House many years ago. I was in so much pain I have to see first aid as I hit my knee where I had some major swelling. I ended up getting a wheel chair b/c I couldn't take the walking. It was great AND we got to move up in line for a few rides/shows.

I have the Gowalks that look a bit like Mary Janes. I put in some dollar store gel insoles with arch support and they are way more comfy than my $500 dollar orthopaedics. I actually went back and bought two more pAirs because I'm scared they'll be discontinued. I feel like I'm walking on pillows with them. The best shoes ever!!!

I am an Orlando Local, and go to WDW ALL the time--I second the Olukai flip flops---I also wear Chacos, but they are more like sport sandals--may put pressure on your pinky toe. FWIW.

If you have more info on which Nikes, I'd love to look for them. I googled and only came up with closed-toe athletic shoes.

Mostly pain, but swelling too (still noticeably swollen). I don't even have to be walking or moving it to feel the pain. It's also very sensitive to the touch (especially on the top, so my shoes touching the toe any amount hurts). I haven't taped it because I can't stand that feeling of something between my toes, but I will give it a shot tomorrow.

I have two pairs of the Gowalk slip on style, but my favorite Gowalk style is Baby. I bought mine at Kohl's. They also have them at Zappos. The nice thing is the laces make them a little more adjustable, so they can be worn with socks or without.

What about Keen sandals? My Venice H2 sandals protect my toes, but they are wide, don't press on my toes, but keep them covered. You don't want to stub a broken toe! They aren't that cute, but they sure are comfortable!
