We're headed to WDW with our 2 year old son. Do you have a favorite character dining experience.

He wouldn't be impressed by the princesses...I wish they had a "boy" version of that one (not to be gender biased, but he'd LOVE a Buzz and Woody breakfast! LOL!)

Any help is appreciated!

TIA

At that age I would suggest the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom with Pooh and friends! I haven't done it myself (yet) but it gets good reviews here on the DIS. My DD will be 1 1/2 and my boys 10 and 9 -- we have a PS for dinner here on our upcoming trip in February. (They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the characters, all buffets.) You can find the menus here:

And some reviews here:

I'm sure others will come along with more suggestions/advice for you...Welcome to the DIS!

I'll second Crystal Palace, but prefer lunch over breakfast. Breakfast is really good however. I just prefer to plan an early lunch.

Another really great suggestion for a boy is Donalds breakfastosaurus at AK. The theming is the most "boyish" of all the meals and it has all boy characters Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto ( I think that's right Goofy and Pluto and not Chip and Dale?).

Yep, that's right! We have a PS at this one as well, it was requested by my 10 year old DS because Donald is his favorite!

Thanks... all the character meals are running together in my mind right now.

Donalds is my 14 DS 2nd favorite place to eat in WDW. His first is Biergarten, but hey I never claimed he was a normal kid. ;)

Who does your 2yo DS really like? That's how I would choose a character meal. Our DD at 2 really enjoyed the Pooh characters and had a blast at our lunch with Pooh and friends. They are all alot of fun!

You do not say when you are going, but if it is during the slower season, remember that park hours will be shorter and you may spend an hour or more of that precious time at breakfast. If you have a day when you are not going to the parks, a character breakfast would be great for that day. Depending on where you are staying, there are several choices at the Disney resorts.

you could also use a character meal to extend a shorter day, by making a ressie for before the park opens. they let you in, even though the park isn't open yet.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. We are going the last weekend in January. We will be going to the parks on only two days (Sat/Sun) but arriving on Friday at Pop Century. The suggestion of doing character dining at a resort location on a "non-park" day is great. The only hard part about making that decision is that I think he would like the Pooh and Friends or the AK character dining experience. Sigh...I think I'll find out about a ressie prior to park opening, first. thanks again, everyone!

That's a good idea. You can try for an 8:00 PS and be done eating when the park opens at 9:00. Which parks were you planning to go to anyway? I'm sure MK was one of them, right? So, that Pooh breakfast should work out really well without taking away from your park time if you could get one early enough!
