Suggestions for Building Request - POFQ

My husband and I would like to go and stay at POFQ in mid Sept. We are only waiting for either AP or FL res rates to come out. I don't think we will go if room only discounts don't come out. Anyway, we plan on taking a long weekend just for the 2 of us (leaving Ariel at home). Any building suggestions for romance? We would like to be relatively close to the food court to refill our mugs, but we don't really care about the pool. TIA ArielsMommy

None of the buildings are very far from the food court. Building 7 is secluded and offers a beautiful water view. My aunt had a room on the 3rd floor and was upgraded to water view for free. It is the farthest building from the food court but no building in POFQ is really that far. If I was going alone with my DH, that's where I would want to stay.

Bldg. 4 is the closest to the Food Court.

We were in building 3 and it was close to the food court and the pool. We had a nice courtyard view.
As other posters said the resort is small and very well laid out. The only building that seem too far for me would have been building 7, but other than that all other buildings are not too far from the main building and the pool.

Are there separate smoking and non-smoking buildings? Also, are there special buildings with king beds? We would like a king and are non-smoking. TIA

Just back...building 4..not only close to food court...closest to bus stop.

We were in bldg. 1. We loved the secluded feeling. When it rained we would just follow the corridors of the bldgs to the food court so we didn't get wet. Unfortunately, bldg. 1 is the furthest from the buses but it is very quiet. I believe the only king (or it might be queen) beds are in the corner rooms with the double windows, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the help so far. We don't really mind if we are far from the busstops as we will have our own car. We prefer to drive ourselves rather than wait for a bus that may be very crowded. Does this make any difference in your building suggestions?

I'd vote for Building 4. We stayed in Building 7 in May, and it was nice and quiet, but not so close to the food court - don't get me wrong, it's a small resort, so it really didn't matter. But if you want close to the food court - I'd go for Building 4 - that's where we plan to request in October.

Here's a link to a map - it's for both French Quarter and Riverside. French Quarter is the brown part. It's small, but if I hit "print preview," I was able to zoom in a little more and get a better look, even though it's still a little blurry. Building 4 is the the one just to the left of the food court.

Nothing is far from anything at POFQ but keeping in mind what you are looking for I would suggest Buildings 4 or 3. They are right next to the food court, right next to parking and a very short distance from the pool. Building 4 is also near the bus stop, you could walk by it and see how busy it is on the way to your car.

If this makes a difference to you, I just doublechecked AllEarsNet, and they are showing building 4 as a smoking building. I specifically looked at Building 4 when we were there last, and I was thinking it was Non-Smoking, but you may want to ask.

We were just at POFQ in Bldg. 4 and our room was non smoking

I loved my room in building 7. It was farthest from the food court, but it was still only a two minute walk, plus it gave me a chance to really take in beauty of the resort. I liked how convenient it was to the parking lot for our car. We also seemed to be in a "kid free" zone, which was nice.
