I will be taking my 14 month old to DW ( staying at ASMo ) then to the DCL for a trip that is going to last 10 days.

We don't have a car rental...so we won't have a car and will be in WDW the entire time.

We were planning to simply pack 10-15 jars of Gerber's baby food for him to carry along and then give him milk and fruits/veggies that we have during lunch/dinner.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they did for baby food for an infant during a long trip to WDW?

Why not just forget the baby food and just feed the baby off your plate? that's what i plan to do with my dd who's will be 12 months durring our trip, then again she gets most of her nutrion still from BF, but can you do with out the baby food jared stuff??? It would just be less to carry or break in the parks...

My daughter has milk sensitivity so we will bring food we know is safe for her to eat, and then eat off of our plates also (I can't believe how much stuff is made with milk!!) How about the cereal bars for breakfast or a pack of mini bagels (Emmalyne loves those). For the most part she will share with us but I agree it's good to have some food you know is a sure bet. We will also bring things like cereal snacking squares to make sure she has stuff to munch on.

Is your little one 14 months now or 14 months on the trip? By 14 months, most babies I've known, including my own, are protesting baby food so yours may not want it by then either.

When we took DS at 13.5 months old, I did bring some small pop-top cans of veggies and snack pack containers of fruits for him. We do a lot of counter service meals and found it hard to find enough places to get fruits and veggies for him. We gave him meats, breads, etc. from our plates. Also, I packed lots of gerber graduate snacks for him. I tried to save disposable plastic containers to pack them in so they didn't get crushed (butter tubs, ricotta cheese containers, yogurt containers, etc). HTH!

Both of my kids loved spaghettios right out of the pop-top cans. Always kept one in the car in case of emergencies and according to doctor, this is one of the least junky of the fast foods. Neither one of them minded eating them room temperature. Also, the pop-top cans of fruit (just not the syrupy kind because of all the sugar), graham crackers, cheese sticks. And to even it all out with some junk, of course they will need french fries and ice cream as a supplement :goodvibes

At 14 months, we were ordering kid's meals for our DS. You shouldn't really need any specific baby food. I'd just pack some dry snacks so you always have something on hand (cheerios or whatever), but table food should be fine.

We took my DD when she was almost 12months old. We took the Gerber Lil Entrees with us. Those were great! Flat and easy to carry. Also they didn't need to be refrigerated and we just heated them up in the baby care center. Also my DD only had two teeth at that point and could easily eat those. By 14 months your child most likely won't want mushy baby food. My DD refused the baby food in a jar that we bought in a pinch at the Baby Care Center. Don't bring jars, do the Lil Entrees. Also, you can always get a Peanut butter and Jelly sandwhich most anywhere. Good, mushy and kid friendly! ;)

At that age we were giving DS a lot of the gerber graduate stuff which is much healthier than a lot of junk food. If you eat at lot of sit downs and buffets you will do fine feeding him a great deal off your plate but if you eat a lot of counter, I would try to have some more healty choices for him. I would also be careful not to introduce too many differnt, rich or heavy food he is not use to. They have the baby foods in the plastic and most toddlers are still happy with apple sauce at least. They have these new gerber snacks that are made from fruit and veggies. My DS is 13 so I was impressed with the new products. I am not sure of the nutritional worth but the babies in our church nursery LOVE them. Might be a good add on. BE sure not to change anything major right before the trip. Such as formular or BM to milk.

Have a blast.

We never gave our girls baby food. We tried with the first one and it didn't work out and we never tried with the second. We used recipes and tips from the Super Baby Food cookbook. When traveling--we'd carry our grinder with us and we'd bring along the snack type items like cheerios and such. A lot of times--whatever they were used to having was available and we've never had a problem feeding them on vacation.

We'll be going last week of october. By then, DD will be 11months old. We are also staying on site and will not have a car rental. On another board, they recomended wegoshop.com. You send them your shopping list and they deliver to your hotel for 15 dls (if you spend less than 100). You can select your store and from what I've read they provide an excellent service. We are traveling from outside the US so we'll be using this service to get snacks, cereal, baby food etc. What do you usually feed her at home? the grinder sounds like a good choice.... I will get the jars from gerber for sure but Lisa, what kind of grinder did you use?

I have used the happy baby bay food grinder by gerber. I think. I just love it!!!!!!!

ALso you can get compact ones by the first years at most baby stores. Toys r us, babies r us..

HTH!
