This will be our first trip sans kids in 10 years so lots has changed. I'm still stuck in the 'what to do for the kids' mindset. What do you like to do as adults? The only thing I'm coming up with so far is Blue Bayou.

This may open time for us to take in a show..we never do. So I may add WoC and F!

Anything I'm overlooking?

Be sure to visit Trader Sam's Tiki Lounge at the DLH, my DH and I had a great time there in Feb. WOC is a must see as well, be sure to get the Blue Fast Pass for a great viewing spot.

DH and I almost went without kids this month. Never have before and still haven't. Maybe next year. Anyway...some of the things on our to-do list had we gone or if we go are: give WoC another try from a better location than our two attempts as a family, try out one of the nicer restaurants such as Carthay or Steakhouse 55, take it slow and admire more of the little details in the parks.

The biggest thing I've noticed in traveling without kids is that you move so much faster! You can get so much more done, and you can focus on only rides you like. It's OK to skip Dumbo if you want to, and ride Space M over and over and over again ;)

When I've gone adults-only, we've made sure to eat at least one nicer meal to celebrate. So BB, Napa Rose, or Carthay Circle would be fun. Those are all fine with kids as well, but it's kind of nice to be able to do them at a more relaxing pace!

The other thing I'd say is don't be afraid to do things that are usually for kids if you think you'll enjoy them! If you like meeting characters, go right ahead! Try to beat each other on TSMM, and play hide-and-seek on Tom Sawyer island. Acting like a kid again can be incredibly romantic. And just strolling down Main Street after dark, watching the fireworks. Things like that are so fun, because normally you're trying to keep track of kids. It's nice to be able to just focus on each other.

Hope you have a great trip! You'll have so much fun!

My DH and I do not have kids (yet). We just go with the flow of things. We did Fantasmic! with dessert, character meals, etc. One of the most fun things we did on our last trip was ride ToT a bazillion times, trying to decide which funny face we were going to do each time. (Had PP+) LOL. I have a fun one of him looking like he was on his phone, and one of me praying (which got a good laugh from some of the kids on the ride with us.) We slept in, we stayed up late. I should add my DH isn't the Disney nut I am. He knows how much I love it, and goes along. BUT, when we are in the park he always has a good time, because we are doing things together.

This is exactly the thread I was looking for!!! My DW and I are going in December and were trying to come up with a list of adult to-do items in the parks. I cant wait to see what else everyone comes up with:thumbsup2

My husband and I have gone on anniversary weekends a couple of times. First thing we do is splurge on a room at the GCH. I love the theme, location, and restaurants. I notice we spend more resort time without the kids. They have the Hearthstone lounge and we like hanging out and getting drinks and apps.

Next time we want to try the Disneyland Hotel. I've been to Trader Sam's with my kids, but I can't wait to show my dh!

We also do the dessert package for F! Again, something I wouldn't buy for my family of seven, but for just the two of us it's well worth the cost.

Next time we are going to do the WOC dinner package at Carthay Circle. I think that would make for a romantic evening.

Best advice...take it slow. You don't have to do or see everything. Hit your highlights and favorites and just savor the atmosphere. We love walking through the shops and actually look for things. You can't imagine the freedom of not having to keep an eye on 5 kids in a shop or crowd!

Have a fantastic time!
