Suggestions for a train obsessed 4 year old?

Definitely see the train in Germany! My DS, now 16, still always stops to see it. He has always loved trains.

When my DS was young, it was the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. He was the first one to go and visit the trains that day, and the CM there let him "open" the trains for the day. He gave him a wooden conductors' whistle that he got to keep, along with a certificate to remember it by. So very, very awesome! We will never forget it!

Dumbo's Circus area has a train that squirts water and what toddler doesn't love getting trounced with water from an elephant's trunk....or camel...or giraffe...or whatever???!!!

Bring a towel. Though Disney is more than glad to sell you one right from a kiosk conveniently located next to the play area :dumbo:

When my Grandson was 8 yrs. old . I had to ride the Train 8 Times in a row . We just kept circling MK .. Suggestion bring a flat pillow for your tush ( seat is hard) But honestly it was my Pleasure to see him so Happy .

I am going to have to check this out for sure - we are staying at WL. If it's still at WL, I clearly didn't walk around the resort enough last time we visited! Thanks for the tip.

It's definitely still there, it's an original car built by Walt Disney himself for his Carolwood Pacific train line that he built in his backyard...

Walt Disney had an almost lifelong fascination with steam trains, and the original plan for Disneyland was to build a similar steam train line across the street from his original studio in California, it grew into much much more.

I'm a grown up train enthusiast! Some of us never grow out of it.

Minimum age for the Steam Train Tour is 10 years old. That having been said, if he still has any interest in trains at 10, I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. We did it a few years back, and felt it was well worth the price. All 3 of us still remember some of what we learned on the tour as well, very informative and interesting.

During the Germany Mission of Agent P's World Showcase Adventure,Guests "turn on" a little toy train and it rolls around on a small track and provides a "clue".:)

If you are going in late November and Christmas decorations will be up, the Yacht Club lobby had a huge model train/Christmas village display worth seeing. It can be a break during an Epcot day-- just exit out the back gate.

If you're staying there great otherwise I wouldn't call it terribly exciting and I'm a train fan

We went through the train loving phase too!

The MK railroad is also worth a ride.

Are you going to *whispers* Universal? They also have the hogwarts express.

Train obsessed 46 year old here - you never lose your love of trains when you get bit by the bug when you are young! :teeth:

Take him on a couple of loops around MK on the train - he will love it. You may also want to consider riding the monorail to Epcot and the loop around the lagoon.

On our last trip, we brought our lunch and ate a location just to the east of Pete's Silly Side Show in MK. It looked like it may have been a restaurant, but it was closed. There were tables outside and you are actually sitting near the tracks. It would be a great place to take him for a break and just let him watch the trains.
