Hi all!

We are headed to Disney in November and my son will turn 4 the week prior. He is obsessed with trains...to the point where on our first visit last April we had to drag him off the parking lot tram crying to go into the park because he thought that was the "train ride" we talked to him about o_O Last April, we rode the Wildlife Express in AK, but the MK train was closed for construction, so we are very excited to be able to surprise him with that this time. We did the People Mover instead which he loved and plan to do again. Are there any other trains/train attractions/train themed shops that anyone knows about that we could plan to visit while in the parks?

Thanks!

Definitely plan for a ride on the monorail! (hopefully during the middle of the day when it's not crowded)

There is the 7 dwarfs mine train as well as big thunder mountain trains.

Will do - we will be going between MK and Epcot a few times and planned for an extended ride on our departure day just for him LOL Thanks!

I've never heard of this before! Is it a model train that you look at?

It is a couple model trains you look at. They go around a small model German town. If you are there during food and wine the town has a mini festival! It is between Germany and Italy.

Too bad your little dude is too young for the tour. He sounds like he would be the type of kid to really enjoy 3 hours all about steam engines.

It is a model train that runs through a little model village (I believe it's actually a replica of an actual German village, just not sure which village). It's pretty big for a model train set, though, and really well done. I always have to stop and watch it a bit and I'm not even really into trains! :goodvibes

Thank you guys so much! I've added it to our stop in Germany for our Epcot day. I did see the steam train tour but it looks to be targeted to an older age group.

I remember that stage well. We found ourselves riding the train around the MK many times. We still have to stop and watch the trains in the Germany pavilion on each trip. The set even lights up at night. Trains are awesome.

I think that they've all been mentioned, but compiled into one list:

MK: Big Thunder, 7D, MK Railroad, People Mover, watching the train cross tracks in Frontierland, and watching BTM from Tom Sawyers Island (my kids enjoyed that), There's also the Casey Junior circus train plash pad in Fantasyland/Storybook Circus.
EP: model train in Germany,
AK: train to Rafiki's Planet Watch,
Various: parking lot trams, monorail

Something about trains that little boys love.

My "little" boy is turning 21 in a few days, and I can picture him looking at that train display in Germany. :cloud9: He could have spent hours and that was fine by me. I was (am) just as obsessed with the beer. :drinking1

Do they still have some train stuff over at the Villa building at WL? What is it called now, Boulder Ridge?

LOL love that! He's growing up too fast, and he's going to love the train display in Germany. Thank you all so much for the help!

Hi
My name is Mel and I design things down on the Creative DIS design forum.
I made him a WDW Train ticket.Feel free to say thanks but no thanks.
(free-no charge just sprinkling a bit of magic).
Hugs Mel

I will post an example in my photobucket and if you'd like one please post his first name.
Photobucket is being a pain right now.
just follow the link in my signature and look under train

I am going to have to check this out for sure - we are staying at WL. If it's still at WL, I clearly didn't walk around the resort enough last time we visited! Thanks for the tip.
Just to note, it's not at the main WL, it's in the Villa lobby. So different building. Used to be called WLV, now called Boulder Ridge Villa, I believe. Same place, new name.
