We are going to Disney world the first week in March. It's my birthday (a big one) and a little thank you to my kids 12 and 14. I have had some major medical stuff this year and they stepped up big time. I would like to do something as a surprise. We will have 6 park days. No hoppers. We are planning on Disney springs the day we fly down.

I know our kids at that age really liked Disney Springs (well, Downtown Disney as it was called at that time). We had a fun dinner at Raglan Road one night, then went shopping! All the shops - especially now - offer lots of famous brand names the kids like. How about just a great "buy whatever souvenir you want!" night of shopping.

I also can tell you that at that age, they would have been mortified if we did anything like have people single them out in any way, but that is totally them, and your kids might like something more along those lines - like a celebration cake at a restaurant, etc.

Congrats to you - hope you are now doing well!

How about a dessert party. If the kids are into Star Wars then DHS has an awesome DP.

I have 1 that likes Star Wars and 1 that doesn't. Are the dessert parties still hard to get? I tried the last time we went but I could not get an adr. How many dessert parties are there? We will do all 4 parks, MK and Epcot twice.

My kids were a little younger than yours when we did it, but the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise is a ton of fun, even for the adults.

Maybe dinner at Hoop De Doo or Spirit of Aloha?

If not a fireworks cruise or dessert party, how about dinner at California Grill followed by watching fireworks from the Contemporary roof?

A ride in the amphibious cars at Disney Springs

If they are sweets enthusiasts, a spree at Goofy's Candy Co (an uncelebrated gem, imho) or a trip to Toothsome at City Walk

If both are girls, spa day

Gift card to buy a special souvenir, no questions asked

Pick a pearl

We've never been to city walk. That's interesting. Is that far from pop century if we take an uber?

They are both girls but one being the big Star Wars fan.

They'll be surprised when room service knocks on their door, bringing their favorite meals. A small gesture, but unexpected.

CityWalk will probably be a 30 minute drive from Pop depending on the time of day you go. I don't find CityWalk all that interesting - it's just shopping and restaurants . . .

If you have a big Star Wars fan, I would recommend doing the Galactic dessert party. The MK dessert party is great, too (do the one with Plaza garden viewing). As long as you make reservations shortly after they open, you shouldn't have a problem getting them.

As PP suggested, Cali Grill is really nice and it has a spectacular view. Maybe a tour? We really enjoyed Wild Africa Trek in AK. You might also want to consider a private Illuminations fireworks cruise.

My DD loved her surprises from "Mickey & friends" that I ordered from Disney Florist. You don't have to order the large expensive packages. If all you wanted was something like embroidered Mickey hats for everyone, you can call the number and just order that. It's a nice service that delivers straight to your room. Also, one year, after my DH had been having a few stressful months at work, I ordered him a customized cake thru Disney & had it delivered our first night at the restaurant we were eating at. He was so surprised! There's a cake thread on the restaurant forums here that has all info you would need. And I agree with the other poster who suggested giving your children a mini shopping spree at DS. or maybe give them each a gift card to use in the Disney store (my DD loved the store in Japan at that age) of their choice with a nice note of appreciation attached.
