My girlfriend & I will be taking a 3 day trip to WDW & staying at BCV & are not renting a car. We'd love to get a message & some other spa treatments. Is there anything on property we can get to w/o a car. Also, any ideas for 2 women in their mid-40's getting away from the kids to do. La Nauba is not playing while we're there. Mid May. We're not real shoppers - do like to eat out. We're NOT doing the parks.

Thanks for the help!

The best spa on Disney property including the one located between the GF & Poly is at the Disney Instiute. It is located betweeen OKW and to Port Orleans Riverside/French Quarter.

When we were there in Oct. 02 it was not very crowded and I used it everyday. I think the cost is $35 LOS. You can also pay a daily fee. They offer massages and other treatments at this facility. If you stay at Port Orleans it is my understanding Port Orleans will reimburse you for the short taxi ride. I met other DVCers who were staying at OKW and they walked to the spa. I have been to Disney many times and until my last trip did not even know this spa was there. Enjoy!!

Another vote for the Spa at Disney Institute, although they now call it the Spa at Saratoga Springs. Had a Swedish massage there last week. The whole set up and atmosphere was wonderful.

I stayed at BWI, but we had a car, so I drove. Sorry I can't help with a way to get there :(

I found both to be lacking. The message itself was good at GF but the service left something to be desired. When I arrived they handed me a robe and slippers and told me to wait in the other room. I asked what size the robes were, I am a plus size woman, and she said it would fit don't worry. I got undressed and put the robe on and you guessed it, it did not fit. I am a size 18-20 and do not think that it is unreasonable to think that when you are paying $200 for a message they will have a robe and slippers to fit.

I received the best message ever at the Treasure Island in Vegas. They really pampered me, it was the whole experience from when you walked in until you left. I was hoping WDW could do the same. So far I have been extremely unhappy. Next time I try Disney Inst.

good luck

DBF treated me to the spa at the Institute over Christmas and it was fabulous. They offer many treatments.
I had the custom therapeutic massage and a pedicure. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. They took me to the changing room, gave me my robe and splippers and the took me the waiting area. The changing room had everything you needed to freshen up after your treatment or if you used the gym. They also have a sauna you can use while you are there.
If you book with the Institute you can go to the front desk of your resort tell them where you are going and they will get you a complimentery taxi to and from the spa.
I really recomend the Institute. I felt so relaxed after my visit.
The number to the spa is (407) 827-4455

If you just want a massage - then find out if you can't have one in your room - it will cost extra - but I think it would be worth it. It use to be around $20 extra per person - don't know what the rate is now.

Otherwise you would probably have to go to either the gym (exercise room, health club-whatever) at BC/YC or BWV. If you want one close to you.
