Being an Iowa Gal :) means that I have not been to too many waterparks--
actually we have only been to two different local indoor waterparks where the cheapie watershoes were just fine.

I am thinking we need some slightly nicer ones that the wal mart 4.99, but am unsure where to look.

I also do not want to spend a lot of money, since these will rarely be used by us. I guess I am just looking for something with enough cushion to keep our feet happy through a few days of wear.

I need two pairs of ladies xl, one mens M, and a boys size 2---

Thanks for any help!

Hello,
I'm not sure if you have a Sports Authority Store where you live but they have GREAT water shoes, sneekers and sandles for a good price. I checked to see if they have a online store and they do. http://www.thesportsauthority.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=718108

I have several pair - ranging from very cheap from Payless to more expensive like Keen's.

Believe it or not the Payless ones are the most comfortable. I recommend them highly.

DH and I just bought Keen sandals--LOVE THEM!! Anyway, are you allowed to wear the sandals on all of the waterslides and pools? Just wondering cuz we have never been to a waterpark at WDW before. :flower:

I got ours at Dick's Sporting Goods. Think they were about $15. Worth it--very comfy, held shape well, easy to get on and off.

go ahead, buy the wallyworld watershoes,,, use the money you save on other things on the trip,,

The answer will vary depending on who you ask - i've worn my water sandles on slides at TL and BB, but have had at least one lifeguard tell me I had to take them off and hold them in my hand to slide (which I think is much more dangerous than leaving them on my feet!).

So go ahead and wear them, but don't be too surprised if one lifeguard tells you to take them off.

I vote for the walmart one's. Yeah, they do get wear and tear on the bottoms but hey, I only paid 4 bucks for 'em. Actually ours have lasted the last 3 water parks over 2 years. I didn't like having to hold them down the big slides either, So we left the water shoes buy the enterance of the slide and got them when we were finished. I didn't care if they got stolen- they were cheap and ugly at that (guess no one wanted them! lol). I like them in the wave pools, they are concrete and very hard on your feet standing in the waves. Plus I don't like walking all over in bear feet. Yucky stuff on the ground, stepped in gum twice. Glad it was on the shoe not my feet!
Good Luck and Do What's right for you.

Now is the time to buy during end of the season clearance. Dick's Sporting Goods, which is a chain like Sport's Authority, has their water shoes on sale for $4.99.

my vote wuld go to tevas. I like the open design, your feet dry much more quickly than the mesh kind that cover your whole foot. Also if you go to the beach I have found that the mesh type fill with sand, and it is hard to get out.

I have a water shoe from the Shoe Carnival, Ryka is the brand, it's light weight but more support, most of the upper part of the shoe is mesh.My dd11 also has a pair, we walk in the pool at the y and need to protect the bottom of our feet. They dry really fast. They were 25.00. Hope this helps. :flower:

I thought I would need water shoes at the water parks, but when I got there, I thought it was much better to be barefoot. Obviously I wore shoes in the restroom and changing room, but not on rides, etc. I thought the walkways would be hot but surprisingly they weren't. I also saw people being told they couldn't wear the shoes on the slides. They just seemed to be more hassle than they were worth.
