We are seriously looking at going to WDW from February 2nd through the 12th... which would put us there for my 36th birthday.

My wife has already pointed out that I'll need to pick out a special place for a birthday dinner. I'm considering Le Cellier, of course (we did this for DS's 12 bday), and Coral Reef is also on the list (have never eaten there, looks like a neat atmosphere).

What are some other suggestions?

Note that we have a large family (five kids, will range from 15 years down to eight months old at the time of the trip), so I'm not really interested in a signature dining experience (pricier than I want to do for one meal). Le Cellier is on the list simply because the steaks are excellent, and I love steak. That being said, it's not exactly a fun place to go.

I'd like good food (obviously), and a neat setting/atmosphere/etc would be nice.

Opinions, please? Thanks!

I think by the time you go, LeCellier will be considered signature dining. I read somewhere that it is going to 2 DDP credits.

Well, bleh. Come to think of it, I remember reading that, too.

Doesn't mean it's off my list... call it an exemption, if you will... but it's something else to consider.

I say.. Ohana! Plenty of good food, relaxing tropical atmosphere and kids can join in hula contest and coconut races! Its one of our familys faves!!

Rainforest Cafe is always a great choice. They can handle bigger parties and the atmosphere is always alot of fun and you can't go wrong with the food. Lots of choices for everyone. There is a location at Animal Kingdom and at Downtown Disney.

We done Ohana for breakfast, but never dinner. I'll have to look at this... though to be honest, I'll probably want to stay in a park (I'm a big kid, y'know).

We love the Rainforest Cafe, and will certainly eat there at some point during the trip. I could see sharing a volcano for a birthday...

Well Ohana is right next door to MK you can just hop the monorail and that way you can hop back aboard and go back to MK or EP!

More good choices:

Biergarten, Via Napoli at EP
Mama Melrose or 50's PT at HS
Capt Grill at Yacht Club
Boma at AKL
Trex DTD is alot of fun, we love the food here, they have a chicken fried steak that is bigger than the plate and OMG good! Tender meat, perfectly seasoned flakey crust! and Im not a chicken fried steak fan and I Love it!
