Anyone have any suggestions for a 3-4 day 15th anniversary trip (not Disney)? Flying is ok, price should be under $2500 including transportation. Cruise is out (BTDT). Timing is around the beginning of June.

Thanks! Right now we have a fly-in fishing trip on the "table". We are trying to think of things that would be REALLY worth leaving the kids at home. Think hours of absolute quiet sitting on a beautiful lake broken only by the shouts of "FISH ON"! Hmmm...

Any other worthy ideas?

We are throwing around the idea of doing this for our 10th, next year. My plan right now is to go to Las Vegas for a long weekend. There a couple threads on this board right now with some great Vegas info.
Good luck deciding!

places up here in Maine......by the lake or by the ocean.....good time of the year too.......not prime time.....

June you can go almost anywhere and enjoy nice weather. It really depends on what you both enjoy. For us, it would probably either involved Golf, Gambling, or Fishing, probably all 3 if possible!

Do you have Vacation or Sports shows in your area? We go to one or the other each year and DH picks up a ton of brochures - I swear we could open our own travel agency with them all. Very helpful when you are looking for someplace "new"

I suggest Maine as well. DH and I went to Acadia for our 25th anniversary. It's quiet and a gorgeous area. There's also plenty of other beautiful areas in Maine, as pumba pointed out.

Have a wonderful celebration, wherever you go! :)

We are actually planning a 10 day trip to Acadia & NH for next summer, so I don't think we will do that. But I would love some information for next summer, though!

We just want to make sure it is something that we will appreciate doing alone, not wishing the kids were with us. Fishing is fun with the kids, but, well... you know, 10 minutes into it, "We're bored, There's no fish here", etc... Last year we rented a cottage on Black Lake, NY for the weekend, rented a boat and all and everytime one of the kids would move in the middle seat it would make a loud BANG. We could just see the fish scattering for miles!

Maybe a short fishing jaunt, somewhere closer than the WAY NORTH in Ontario (11 hour car ride just to get to the place they pick you up in the little plane, lol).

Thanks! Any other ideas?

Have you ever been to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard? They are beautiful in the early summer and very romantic (before the big crowds come). You could enjoy a lovely B&B and get some deep sea fishing in?

How about Bermuda? Easy to get to.

We're looking into Napa Valley/San Francisco for our next anniversary - but we're not into fishing, that's more our speed! LOL

Hey, I'm also from NY and celebrating my 15th this year. Unfortunately, we were stupid enough to get married on Thanksgiving weekend, SO this year our anniversary falls ON Thanksgiving (grrr) We'll probably take a night in NYC and leave this kids with my parents the weekend after.

Anyway, to the point, I'd love to do the Carnival cruise to nowhere, there are some sailings from NYC.
