So my son actually turned 4 on May 14th, but it seemed as though every other child in our large extended family had a birthday party around that time as well. Instead of having a birthday party for him in our home town, we're electing to do it during our trip to WDW @ the end of May and early June. We're going to be traveling with a large group of family members so we thought this would make him feel really special, at least that's what I hope will happen.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest something nice to do, in any of the Disney World Orlando Parks, for a child's birthday? Ive read about special perks you can get if your child is celebrating their actual birthday while visiting, but I don't know if any of these extend to birthday celebrations not on the actual day of birth.

I would love to hear any thoughts or suggestions or ideas or further information regarding children's birthday perks. Please, this is my sons first visit and since he didn't have a party here I want to make it reallllllly special for him in WDW! Thanks!

Go to the city hall in MK on arrival at the park and tell them that you are celebrating your son's birthday, he will be given a button to wear and cast members all through the park will wish him Happy Birthday.

If you can book a character meal that would be a great way to celebrate.

When ds was turning 5 and we were at Fort Wilderness, I purchased a present, wrapped it and had dh drop it off at the front desk. They had a cm drop it off at our camper (at a predesignated time). They added a mickey balloon and a birthday card from mickey. He was soo excited.

Our first visit was for my DD 5th birthday, and it turned out beautifully! What we did, was:
1. Had a signed photo of Minnie saying Happy Birthday, and placed it in the room at night so she would wake up to it.
2. Decorated our room in the night (while DD was sleeping)
3. Went to Chef Mickey's and the next day, Cinderella's castle to eat, since we could not decide which one looked best for DD's birthday.
4. Purchase a button from Main Street City Hall in MK, and tell them it is your DS's birthday we are celebrating. He will get a button saying it's my birthday! You may also want to buy him a birthday hat, (we didn't with ours, but just a suggestion).
5. Then we pretty much had, "her day"- the park she wanted to go to, rides and amusements she wanted, and autographs from all the characters she saw.

No matter what your DS's birthday will be absolutely amazing because he is at the Happiest Place on Earth!:thumbsup2

Eat at his favorite restaurant. If he's into a certain character, eat with him/them if possible. Order a cake and have it delivered to your Table Service restaurant (if eating on WDW property). Make sure to get him a Birthday Button to wear.

Our son will turn 4 during our upcoming trip. We are eating at Chef Mickey's that morning, then doing The Pirate's League in the early afternoon. He loves pirates, and this will be both of our sons first time at the League.
