Suggestions for 17yo DD?

We're taking the 4 day cruise next June. DS will be 18 years old. DD will be practically 17 years old. DD will probably be too shy to go to the teen stuff by herself and I realize DS can't go with her.

How strict are they about "guests 18 and over"? I think she's going to want to stick with DH, me and DS and she's mature enough to handle any language or mature topics for "guests 18 and over". Will they check KTTW cards or anything or can she just tag along with us?

We had the same situation with our DS when he was 17. He came along with us to all of the adult only activities, pool, etc, and was never questioned. A few things though: He did not use his KTTW card, as this shows you to be a "Minor", and also, a minor cannot leave the ship w/o being accompanied by a adult. While at CC he ran back to the ship to get his camera. Got on OK, but could not get off.
A minor cannot get a ressie at Palo either. They need the names of all people and will know if he/she is a adult or not.

Also, you're saying that DD is going to be "practically 17" which means 16 years old. One of the reasons my husband and I choose Disney was because it had several "adult only" sections. I personally would be upset if there was a 16 yr. old present in the adult only sections. That would defeat the purpose IMHO.

Maybe your daughter could make friends on the cruise thread for your cruise. Lots of teens write to each other before the cruise. Then arrange a place an dtime for them to meet, like the dis people do. Then she would have a friend waiting for her when she gets on board. Just have her post for any teens on your cruise, it might help her.
