Suggestions for 1 day in DLR/DCA

I'm going for 5 days, but my two friends who will be joining me are both only able to hang out for 1. It's a MM, so I'll be doing that, but once the rope drops and they can get in, what are some things we should do to make their day fun?

We're all going to have dinner at the Chef's Counter at Napa Rose that night, but the rest of the day is wide open.

What are some things you would do with only 1 day and you wanted to make sure your friends had a great time?

I would make sure and get fastpasses for the main attractions as soon as available on the bottom of the last FP. So in DL have a runner grab SM and Buzz FPs as soon as they get there, then do Nemo or Star Tours while waiting. As soon as the window opens, have a runner grab FPs for Indy, Splash, or BTTMS, whichever you prefer, then ride SM and Buzz, and head over to ride things in the area where the next FP item is. Etc. This is going to be the best way to give them the biggest bang for their buck.

You may also want to let them ride something you've done already while you run over and grap FPs for RSR at DCA. Then you can go over together just before it's up, and grap FPs for Soarin just before riding it. And so on.

Find out what attractions are most important on the day your friends are going to visit.
Make sure they know to be there 15-30 minutes before the rope drop. This is very important.

..... I am confused about your terms " but once the rope drops and they can get in"... there is a drop for MM..... but are not all others without MM privs kept outside the gates till the MM hour is over?....and if they are held at the gate, wouldn't they be more at advantage to wait the hour at the gate?.....unless you are only in DCA for the day and I have read that those gates can be roped. so if DCA only.... then lights coming on in RS, Crush Talk, animation building, same size as bugs in bugsland, Cove bar, walk thru only on TOT, stop and listen to Mr. Potatoe, catch the music on buena ave, parade
