Hello,

Booked at Marriott Courtyard on the $25 deal in 2 weeks, I am getting really stressed about this because we were at AKl, and convinced DH to switch ( I am the bargain shopper) Wondering if anyone recently got back and any suggestions...room requests, anything you'd request or do different

Thanks!

You will have a blast! Don't worry! Go on over to the resort board...there is tons of info there. I only suggest a tower room overlooking Downtown Disney, other than that I am not sure.
HAVE FUN!!!!!

If *I* could get the courtyard for $25 for my trip, my family would lynch me if I passed it up. we enjoyed our stay there in 2000, the hotel was well-kept, clean and the staff was more than wonderful. Our air didn't work too good so the manager called me once I got home and offered to give us a good rate when we returned. I'm gonna call him next fall and see if the offer stands.

That is HYSTERICAL!!!!! We spent 3 nites with no a/c in 8/2000. Turns out the rooms on the side kind of towards I4 had the balconies removed. This increased the room size. The a/c units only had capacity to cool so many square feet. Not enough for the larger rooms. ROOM STAYED HOT. The repairmen kept telling us they fixed it. 3 nites - 3 adults 2 kids in the room. You can bet it was HOT.

The 3rd morning, I stopped at the Marriott Club (whatever) desk and complained one more time. This time the maintenance manager came and said there was no reason we should have 5 people in one of those rooms-they knew better, etc. He explained the problem. They switched us to a wing room which was wondeful- a/c worked like a charm. I liked being on a lower floor better (I didn't like the open area in the center with a 6 and 7 year old with at the time).

Regardless, after the move we did fine in the wing room for the next 4 nites. We paid $89 & $109 for those nites that year. And that was way off the regular rates I called for on the phone.

We were offered a good rate to come back too but I requested room comp instead and we ended up with a couple coupons for a free courtyard nite which we used on way to New Orleans last year.

This year we stayed at the Swan (promise to my son-it was his trip) and even though I know the Courtyard is fine (liked the shade at edge of parking lot for putting the car under too!) I am now a 'Swan addict' and I proudly admit it! Although for $20 a night, I might have think twice!

request a tower room facing DTD so you can see the fireworks from Pleasure Island. When we stayed over Labor Day weekend there were fireworks at 9 & 12 midnight. I would suggest 7th floor & above rooms 10 thru 14 (the floor # + the room number such as room 710) We were on the 7th floor & had very cold a/c.

We stayed there this summer for their $20.02 rate... best move we ever made!

The staff is terrific, very friendly and accomodating.

The lobby is very nice, with tables with umbrellas, a fountain, and a beautiful glass elevator.

The rooms are bigger than those at AKL... there are sliding glass doors onto nice sized balconies.

We overlooked the pool, and could see DTD and in the distance the Swan and Dolphin. At night, you could see the high fireworks from Illuminations.

There are 2 queen sized beds in each rooms, and they were comfortable... more so than some I have had at WDW. There are also 2 sinks in the rooms, a safe, internet access, cable TV, with HBO, for free.

Every weekday from 4-6 is a managers party in the lobby bar, "The Tipsy Parrot" where they have complimentary soda, beer, wine, nachos and popcorn. There is a character by name of "Tipsy Parrot" there to entertain the kids. My DD was more impressed with him than Mickey Mouse---lol!

There are 2 regular sized heated pools, a kiddie pool, a hot tub and a small playground.

Although we didn't use the bus service, we didn't hear any complaints.

There is a full service restaurant, with a breakfast buffet for $7.99 as well as counter service in the lobby. The gift shop is run by Disney, and has souveniers, as well as sundries.

Housekeeping was very good, the room was always spotless, and smelled fresh.

You will receive a complimentary copy of USA Today at your door every morning.

There is also a gym, if you are interested in working out.

YOu will be within walking distance to DTD and Crossroads Shopping Center, where you will find a McDonalds, TGIFriday's, Red Lobster, and other restaurants, if you want to to a break from on property food.

Hey, I don't think you could get a better deal anywhere else... if they were still offering that rate when we are going in October, I would be very tempted!

We stayed there and really liked it. The service was very nice and on a "shopping excursion" in the gift shop and sales clerk went above and beyond to help us. I think you'll be pleased and at that rate, at least you'll have a little extra money to soothe yourself if you have a problem. Have a wonderful trip!

We will probably be staying here in January.
We have never stayed anywhere but at a WDW resort.
Can you make PS prior to check-in?
Do you call the WDW dine number or do you go through CY?
thanks

Just got back on thursday, the place was great for the $$$$. Had stayed last month at BWestern DTD and didnt like it as much as Courtyard. Its worth 20.02 plus more.

Oh that makes me feel soooo much better!!!! We stayed at BW DTD in 2000, DH was not happy with it and was hoping Courtyard would fare better! Thanks for all the input...back to packing leaving in 2 days!!!!!

We just got back from 9 nights there. It was a great hotel. The rooms were clean, the staff was very helpful, the buses run every 30 minutes. I would definately go back there. We were also in a great location. We stayed on the 12th floor in the tower and were able to see the Pleasure Island fireworks from our balcony.

We spent 5 days there in Sept. after checking out of the Wilderness Lodge. We love the Lodge but I have to admit that the bed at Courtyard was so much more comfortable than that at the Deluxe Disney. This alone would make me go back. The savings just made for icing on the cake. For $90. a night difference I could buy a lot of treats for my grandkids to bring home and threw in a Lobster dinner or two for us as well. Our $82. breakfast for 4 at Boma was a bit more enjoyable knowing I had saved this on the room price. I say go for it.

My 2 sons & I went on the $20.02 rate at the end of August. i am so glad we did. We had a room on the 9th floor-913-facing the Contemporary. we saw the fireworks at night, but waht i thought was even better was the view of all of WDW. I had never seen it from that perspective-very cool trying to figure our where everything was.
We had 2 queen size beds and the room was not cramped. everything was lovely. we had a car so I did not use the bus.

The afternoons at the marriott have a free happy hour w/ wine, beer soda, popcorn & nacho chips. That was a nice treat.
The kids enjoyed the play/gameroom.
we also took advantage of the breakfast buffet. the kids and I enjoyed making our own mickey mouse waffles. delicious and you can request strawberries & cream. this filled us up for the whole day.

We bought a styrofoam cooler in Wal-mart and I kept it filled w/ bottled H2O, yogurt, juice and fruit for the kids. we also enjoyed the pizza and potato skins at the snack area in lobby..

as everyone else has stated, the staff were super friendly and helpful. ENJOY!! You can always do AK another time. These rates are unbeatable and well worth it.

Thanks to all for the info...we got back last week and you were all right, it was fantastic! We were there 6 nights, had a refrig, made 3 quick calls from the room, and when we checked out our bill was $350 with tax!!! We were on the 6th floor pool view, but could still see most of the MK fireworks at night. Definatly do the breakfast buffet, in our case the kids ate free (under 5) and we were full until a late lunch, early supper. The savings allowed us to do so much more than we could have at the AKL rates. Several charater meals, lots of souvenirs, we didn't even give our "budget" a second thought since we were originally looking at a $1200 a week rate at the AKL.

Can't say enough, the room was a great size, we didn't feel on top of each other while in the room, pool area was great, all staff very helpful and friendly. Will definatly stay there again if we could get that rate! Even DH loved it, and he is kind of a hotel snob :) So if it passed his inspection, it should everyones especially at the $25 rate!!!!
