This will be our first time at WDW. Going with DH and DS (8 years old). Would love any suggestion on where to eat lunch and dinner for 5 days. Has DDP. Thanks

We took our nieces and the best for them was character breakfasts because they are up early and hungry and they love all breakfast foods. They are pretty picky eaters and did not do well with sit down TS.

The first thing I would do is check out the menus online and see which places appeal to you and your family

I agree. With him only 8, do as many Character meals as you can handle. My oldest is nine and she can't wait to do them again. He would probably also like Coral Reef. We did almost all quick service last time except a couple of :banana:princess meals and Chef Mickey's. I thought they both were very fun and the kids loved them. And we're doing them again in Dec. along with much more.We have Cape May,Akershus,Ohana,Garden Grill,Chef Mickey's,Crystal Palace,Ragland Road and the Plaza. Have fun planning!!!

I would say lunch at Sci-Fi (lunch is so much better than dinner IMHO). I was 11 the first time I ate there (on our first trip) and it was the most memorable meal of the trip for me. I wasn't into characters or princesses as a kid but if your's is I would suggest a meal at 1900 Park Fare or breakfast at 'Ohana's.

Might be better to first plan on where you'll be for lunch and dinner before deciding on exactly where to eat.
If this is your first trip you will probably want to eat where you are at lunch/dinner time..minimize running back and forth just to get to a particular restaurant.

Cystal Palace. Good buffet, happy interaction with Pooh characters.

My DS8's favorite meals are: Teppan Edo for dinner, lunch at Sci-Fi Diner, Coral Reef for dinner, and 'Ohana for dinner. DD7 normally chooses a character meal for her favorite, but we tend to limit those to one per trip.

How fun! We enjoy a midday break and enjoy TS then. :)

Here is the link to the DIS Menus

Take a look and see what appeals. Good advice above, plan on eating where you are that day. Trying to get to another park for a meal is not usually a good use of park time

Have fun planning and welcome!!

Tusker House Safari breakfast at Animal Kingdom is so much fun & it good. Try to get a time before the park opens if possible. Donald & Daisy & Mickey & Goofy are here at breakfast.

We love 'Ohana at the Poly Resort for supper....this is our favorite meal of anywhere. They bring the food to the table family style. Hawaiian bread, delicious salad, wings, veggies, skewers of meats...chicken, beef, shrimp, etc & awesome bread pudding! They sing during the meal & have kiddos use brooms to push coconuts around the restaurant & play other games. We are a couple but I totally love the place..it is fun!! It is also hard to get a reservation so book early! Just take the monorail from Magic & go right to it. We're eating here two times this trip as we like it so much.

Also, Crystal Palace at Magic is good & fun with characters...Piglet, Pooh, Tigger & Eryore.

At Epcot Coral Reef is a fav. of ours also. food is good & there are huge aquriaums of fish in the restaurant.

San Angel at Epcot is a beautiful restaurant. It is dark & you feel you are eating outside by a volanco. Love the beauty of the place. It is mexican food & I'll be honest the food isn't the best but is worth it to eat there once.

We love Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace....character meals are always the best when you have kids. We have found though that our daughter does better with scheduled breakfasts. Anything else she is either tired or doesnt want to leave the park. And sometimes the same goes for us!!
