We are leaving in one week to spend a few days at the Boardwalk Villas. We have never been to Disney and my excitement is getting pretty overwhelming due to the fact that I was supposed to visit Disney 20 years ago but was hit by a train and spent my dream vacation in ICU. We have been trying to get there for years and now is the time! My question is, I would like to be able to see some fireworks from our balcony which is preferred view. Does anyone have a room number that I could request that might give us some night time illumination. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

With a "Preferred Garden / Pool View", you've probably got a better chance of seeing very high level stuff at Fantasmic over at MGM than you will the Illuminations fireworks at Epcot. The Boardwalk View is a separate booking category, so you won't have one of those rooms.

My $.02: Unless you're spending over a week at WDW, take advantage of the proximity to MGM and Epcot and enjoy the shows from their optimal location--inside the park. All of the shows are much more enjoyable when you have a clear line of sight and can hear the audio tracks as well.

Someone was nice enought to respond to a question from me about the locations of standard rooms. The question was prompted because someone had posted that they had an awesome view of Illuminations from their standard room balcony. But my post's responders indicated that it was highly unlikely from a standard room yet more lkely from Boardwalk View room....So it seems that everyone has a different opinon. If you aren't going into Epcot that day, you might want to stroll to the bridge separating Boardwalk from BCV. I read that sitting atop one of the concrete piers (or pillars?) affords a nice, though high view of the display.

Have some fun! Twenty years is a LONG time to wait!

It is true, that not all of the standard view rooms at the BWV have a view of the IllumInations higher level fireworks from the balcony. However, I would not say it is "highly unlikely". Unless your room is vey close to the elevators (or blocked by a tree), you will have at least a partial fireworks view from your standard view balcony. We have had a good fireworks view every time we've booked a 2 bedroom standard view - that's 6 out of 6 now. We usually ask for "across from the bus stop".

All of the PV - Boardwalk view rooms have a fireworks view from the balcony.

The OP has indicated that she has a Preferred view - Pool/Garden. As tjkraz says, some of those rooms may have a balcony view of the higher Fantasmic fireworks, but none of them will have a view of IllumiNations from the balcony. The PV -Pool/Garden rooms just face the wrong way for that.

As already stated, BWV guests can just walk outside to see fireworks - you can see both WISHES (in the distance) and the higher level IllumiNations fireworks from the Boardwalk, and the higher level Fantasmic fireworks can be seen alondg the canal near the tennis courts.

Best wishes -

Two years ago we stayed at the BWV's on the fourth floor. We were all the way at the end by jellyrolls. From the balcony I could see the fireworks from EPCOT. Not a great view, but you could see them.

(I think the room number was 4001??? not sure tho)

meandthree-
Last year we had a preferred view-and I requested Village Green View- we were in 5065 (that was a studio tho) and we had a lovely view of Illuminations as well as the Boardwalk, Beach Club across the lake and the Village Green. Maybe you can call MS up and request Village Green View= good luck and have a magical time- sounds like you deserve it!

I could be wrong, but I think nearly all of the rooms in that area are studios - that's why I didn't mention it in my post. It certainly couldn't hurt to request it, but given the small number of possbilities, it might be better to request another area. If there are no VG rooms available, no telling where the OP might end up. My advice is to request something else.

Best wishes -

Just pointing out that requesting a SPECIFIC unit number is going to leave you very disappointed. You have no way of knowing if someone else is already in that unit when you will be arriving. It is better to state on your reservation exactly what it is you are looking for. i.e. Illuminations view.
