I thought since the wdw podcast did the snack food segment wouldn't it be great if someone(tom bell) from the podcast could do a tour of where they make the Mickey ice cream bars like they did on the food network. You could do a little history of the Mickey bar which park consumes the most of them in a year and other fun triva interveiw guest on how they like to eat it and so on.

I think Tom should take some of the other members (*cough* *cough* me *cough* *cough*) to ensure he gets a good perspective should he decide to do such a show.

Yes the more the better each member could cover a different angle and the other products they make at the plant and be their just in case Tom refuse to leave without a case or two.

I think we have a good candidate for "thread of the week" here.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I prefer hearing several opinions rather than one. I agree!

I can't wait for the bellz goes east segment in April maybe the whole Disneyland tea, could go and record a video show in the studio hopefully Walter will be at that show.

Question can Tim bell write off Mickey bars on his taxes for work related expenses

How about adding the history of churros to that segment? Uh oh, now I'm hungry and I gave up snacks for Lent.

The publicity folks have already nixed us getting a full tour of the Disneyland Bakery.

The Backstory::teacher:

The Food & Beverage folks were so proud of their bakery when it first opened a couple years ago that they were offering us tours. Problem was - they never cleared that with media relations and the California Department of Food Safety.
OOPS! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Seems you just can't "tour" a theme park internal food production site like that.... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

i wonder if that apply to the plant where they make it well tom bell a team player if he has to get a job their to get the story done i am sure he will do it. I am sure their wont be anyone better at checking quality control then tom bell. Out of all the ice cream place at both coasts wonder why they never offer fresh dipped mickey heads. like you can buy the regular ones through out the park and go to the store to get different flavor ice cream mickey shaped then dipped in front of you. that has to be easier then making waffles cones, and bowels to order.

His pants might not appreciate him if he did that.... Or he might not appreciate the extra time at the gym!

It probably has something to do with the shape. Those things are molded and flash frozen in mass production and they have such a large sales volume, they could probably never keep up with the demand onsite. (Or the building fire and occupancy codes might prohibit having such a store - it would always be overcrowded!!!:crowded::crowded::crowded:)

Tom, however loves the hand dipped bars at Clarabelle's in DCA. You can get 4 flavors including Raspberry sorbet dipped in either milk or dark!

Your right but have to think if anyone could do it Disney could do it and yes they would need the size of building like Disney quest to handle the demand well I guess Tom could bring one of the bars into clarabelle's and talk the cm into dipping it for him To get two layers of flavor.
