Suggestion for Mod's

I have some constructive critisim for the Mod's. I would have to estimate that there are at least two threads per day on the transportation boards discusing the two alamo/national locations located within the world. Would it be possible to make a sticky thread with links to those locations, maps and faq's to eliminate duplicate threads?

I can't speak for the mods on this board but I can tell you that most people don't take the time to look for a sticky thread before they post.

Have to agree. Just look at the number of requests for info regarding DME...most of those questions could have been answered by checking in one of the already stickied threads!!! Yes, it clogs things up a bit, but that's the price we pay for being so popular.

True, or look to see if their topic has already been addressed before starting a new thread (ie how do I check in for SWA boarding, can I take ________ on the plane, etc.?)

People don't read signs and usually ignore stickies on message boards. Just human nature, I guess.

The problem is, someone will always answer the question to be nice.... maybe we need to not answer or do like LOST does and post a bunch of links to threads already about that subject....

The one the bothers me the most is, "Has anyone flown XXX airline before? How are they?" This is especially true about Airtran lately.....

Also the many threads about Delta changing flight times or seat assignments.

On the disAbilities board, I sometimes see (very polite) replies that basically say "read the stickied FAQ."

I agree that stickies can get skipped over, and that there are lots of duplicate threads. Somewhat on the flip side, while scanning the titles of recently-posted-to threads is fairly easy, I've not always had very good luck with hits using this new search engine. (Hit-or-Miss )
