This will be our first trip back to the World in 3 years, and looking for suggestions for a great first night dinner.

thanks in advance

What time are you arriving?

When we've arrived early we usually don't go to the parks but we settle in, relax, freshen up then head to Downtown Disney where we just grab something there and shop shop shop!!!!

We've also just checked in, relax, freshen up and let it all soak in that we are finally on Vacation. We order pizza in the room then walk around the resort then finally take a swim. We try to make it to bed not to late so we can make rope drop at MK.

Enjoy your trip.......20 more days for us

For the 4th trip in a row we are doing Chef Mickey's on our first night. I tried to get my family to do something different but they insisted!:rotfl:

It really helps us to get in the Disney mood.:mickeyjum

Last time, we went to DTD and ate at Wolfgang Puck Cafe'. We all loved it there. It was fun to walk around DTD since we had never been there before. I could do a lot of damage on my credit cards there! :scared:

This time, we are planning on going to MK and eating dinner at a CS there. I'm thinking Pinnochio Village Haus or Cosmic Ray's.

We always do the Fantasmic Dinner package on our first night. We check in, unpack and then head over for dinner and end our night with Fantasmic. :)

We are going to the Poly to eat at Ohana's. Then plan on staying to watch Wishes and the electric water pageant from the beach.

Have a great trip!!

Citrico's, if it is open on your first night, is always a great choice for fine dining.. one of our personal favorites.

Not sure if you would like signature dining, buffet, casual, there are many fine restaurants on the Boardwalk side, we love to eat at Spoodles.....casual, bustling, good service and good food..

If planning on going into Epcot for Illuminations, we love to eat at Teppan Edo.. good food, prepared in front of you...with a little show put on by the chef.., some of them can be quite creative with their presentation.

We are doing Ohana's our first night and then we have a Wishes cruise booked.

I would suggest either going to Downtown Disney and trying some place over there or heading over to Disney's Boardwalk and eating at one of the nice places over there. Downtown Disney has a lot of shopping for before and after dinner. The Boardwalk has very romantic views of the water and fireworks shows at Epcot, and if you find the right spot, Magic Kingdom. On the Boardwalk I've eaten at Spoodle's and Big River Grill Works. They are both very good places. Another nice place is ESPN Club, if you're a sports enthusiast. Have fun on your trip!

We like to stay in the vicinity of our resort on our 1st night. It seems like there's less rushing around & worrying about time, when we do that. We're staying at the Dolphin in Oct. We plan to walk over to Epcot, when we get settled. We have an ADR at Les Chefs de France that evening, which is the one restaurant we always eat at. If we're up to it, we'll stay for Illuminations. If not, we wander around the Boardwalk, then go back to the resort.

Where are you staying? Obviously, I'd choose based on that.

We like Raglan Road for a 1st night dinner - if you go around 9p they also have free entertainment.

Ohana's is a great idea too! Great food, good service and lots of fun. You can always have a night cap at the Tambu Lounge too.

We're going to Epcot for our first night and having dinner at Chefs de France. The world showcase will help us get into a Disney mood. Not to mention the plethora of "adult" drinks! :drinking1

We make this pilgrimage to Disney World every year. So over the years I have come up with system of sorts. If we fly it doesn't really matter what time we eat dinner because we are staying in the Magic Kingdom until "they kick us out!" to quote my DD5. Now on years when we drive, or should I say that I drive... for some reason they discourage little children from taking the wheel... We do an earlier dinner and make the day end earlier.

I would choose someplace close by resort. I don't make an ADR for that night as you cannot be sure what time you will arrive. Lots of things could delay you. Since I will be at POR I have a lot of choices. I have Boatwrites; All of DTD and the Food courts as well. If I choose to do a park depending how late they are open and my time of arrival I have that as a choice also. I generally like to get a good nights sleep for the next day so it will be an early to bed the first night.

Love Ohanas for the first night. This trip we are doing 1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian.

We always do Akeshus. Nothing like starting out with the princesses, since I have 2 of my own. princess: princess:
