Suggestion for best stroller for 4 & 6 year old

We are heading to Disney in March and hadn't really thought too much about taking a stroller, since the boys are 4 & 6. But the other day it was nice weather and we went to our Zoo, and the 4 year old, who has some issues with asthma, couldn't make it the whole day walking. So we are definitely going to take a stroller now. Question is...I have seen the strollers with the back seat where the bigger kid can stand or sit down. Any suggestions on the best brands for this? Also is a 6 year old, who I just measured the other day and is 47 inches tall, going to fit comfortably in the back seat of one of those?

Thank you!

We had a sit and stand like that for a few years. I generally hated it because it was very hard to push and steer, due to the long wheelbase. Whenever we go, we always rent a citi mini double from Kingdom Strollers. There are other rental companies, and they are all relatively similar in price. Both kids would be comfortable in one, they are easy to push and easy to fold (though they don't fold very small, so buses are a bit of a pain).

I wouldn't do a sit and stand. Too hard to push with bigger kids. I would consider an on site rental (most expensive option but hey hold a lot of weight) or a citi mini gt double. The gt has a little more room and holds a bit more weight. Also another option is to rent one single and let them share.

I would go with the city mini double from a place like Kingdom Stroller. We went with our 6 and 3 year old this past year and loved it. We were so happy we did not choose the Disney strollers that looked so uncomfortable. The ciy mini handled amazingly and girls slept comfortably in there.:thumbsup2

Thank you! How is the basket underneath it? I was just looking at the Kingdom Strollers site, and I can't really see the basket on the double. We are thinking of bringing a soft sided cooler with water, etc, so the basket would need to be sturdy.

Kingdom, and most other companies, will give you a soft cooler with the stroller, as well as a "parent console" - a soft sided thing with a cup holder and space for a few odds and ends- that velcros to the hendlebar, and a rain cover. The soft cooler can usually be strapped to the bottom of the stroller in front of the basket (between your feet and the stroller basket). IN Dec. 12 the one we got from Kingdom held about 6-8 water bottles. It wasn't big, but it did the trick.

The basket itself holds quite a bit. But be careful, because the stroller folds in half, with the basket on the outside. Nothing like trying to get ona bus in a crowd of people, you yank the stroller up to fold it, and your stuff flies out in every direction.

Ok great, thank you for the info! :)

I am in a similar situation with a 4 year old and 7 year old. Do you think the 7 year old will fit into the double stroller comfortably? She's average height, probably about 50 inches tall. Thanks!

Me too. Except my 7 year old needs a stroller due to health issues but my 4 year old would walk most of the day. We had a jeep side by side double umbrella. It worked great but the foot rests broke on its last Disney trip. We used the same one for the last 4 years for at least 8 trips to Disney. Not sure I want to buy a stroller at this point. I think we will rent one next trip.

We just rented from Kingdom Strollers and I emailed with the owner about the best option for our family. 1 and 4 year old primarily in the stroller but it would be nice for the 7 year old to have the option to occasionally sit. We rented the City Mini Double GT and were pleased. The Kingdom Strollers website says what size kids fit.

Thanks, I didn't notice that they had weight and height recommendations. The mini GT double recommends children less than 48 inches and 50 lbs per side. I think my 7 year old will be well above that by the time we travel.

I wouldn't buy a stroller now at your kids ages. There's plenty of renting options at disney. You can either rent one in the parks (which are plain, uncomfortable looking things) or you can rent from an outside company. I personally have rented from magic strollers and kingdom strollers. They're great, they deliver it right to your resort. Just something else to think about... ;)

Edit...I should really read ahead before replying, you got all the info already, lol. Anyway, we used kindgom strollers the last couple years and when they were 5 and 8 years old, my kids are fairly little and both fit perfectly. Well our sons knees were up a little but it worked out well.
