Suggestion: Food courts - pick up desserts first

Here's a hint about food court CS meals that we learned last week. When getting your food court meal you need to go to several different "windows" to get your food, including one specifically for desserts. We found that the dessert line was usually so long that our hot food items got cold while we waited in line for dessert. I would suggest getting your dessert first if you can.

You can also tell the person ringing you up that you want to come back for your dessert. They can ring up what you want (if you know) or they will ring up three sundaes (just to indicate dessert). Then you come back with your receipt after eating your meal, pick up your dessert and go through the register again. They circled our dessert items on the receipt to indicate that we would be picking up our desserts after eating.

It seemed like the dessert stations only had one person working the window when we were there and they were often overwhelmed with customers.

Good idea! Plus my kids will love getting to pick desserts first! I ran into that problem last year but never thought of your simple solution.

Excellent suggetion! We had the DDP last Sept and again this past May and ran into that problem both times.

Great Tip! :thumbsup2 I know it really bugs me when we have to wait in any line so long that our food gets cold! :sad2: I never thought of getting dessert first, also nice to know you can get it after you eat too! We (my DM and I) usually end up splitting up at different locations anyway and try to time it so that our hot food gets done at about the same time. Your tip makes even that a little easier to do. Thanks :disrocks:

I have often found that the best ideas are simple but most people just do not think of them.

This fits in that category!!

Thank you! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Great idea. We had this problem with our food being cold last year. Simple, and I never even thought of it. Leaving in 2and1/2weeks and will do just that!

Great idea! I'm more of a dessert person anyway so this idea should work perfectly for me. I can feel the fat lbs. coming on already. :sad2:

about having deserts rang up and coming back...

Our first night at ASMO they told us to do that and said I'll ring up 3 ice creams but when you come back (whenever before closing that night) you can get whatever. So another night we went to check out and first he rang us up without desert like that was all we were getting then when I mentioned desert he said there wasnt any on my plate...I explained that we wanted to come back for desert not knowing yet what we wanted...I didnt know if I we would want something to eat then or something to save for later. He said they could only do that for ice cream because it melts and you have to come back 'timely' and get exactly what he rang up. I grabbed a couple of mickey treats and went on since I didnt want to go pick something and wait the line again.

Anyway my point is that not all the cashiers will do it but it is worth a try just be prepared if the server doesnt allow it.
