Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and order your free credit report. You can get 1/year, per reporting agency. So you can order all three at one time, or space them out one every 4 months. Either way, it's a good idea to start off the new year and should help be a reminder to do it every year.
This is the first New Year that everyone, regardless of where they live in the US, can get their copy for free. I'm mentioning this because I was at a kid's party last night and one of the parents mentioned that they had their information stolen and in 2 months somebody was able to open many fraudulent credit lines in her name without her knowing! It's been many, many months and she's still working on getting it all straightened out. I for one would not want to be in her shoes!
