Suggested hotel for non-drivers and teens?

Hi everyone

We've not been to WDW for about 10 years but I'm thinking of planning another trip to celebrate our daughter finishing A levels. We'll be going sometime between the end of June and early September - hot and busy

Thinking of going with a friend and staying near Downtown Disney as we don't want to drive and the girls can be a bit independent walking to Downdown Disney in the evenings if they want. We will have two 18 year old girls with us and I would like some suggestions for mid-range hotels please. We'll be visiting the parks most days so obviously can get the buses.

Our daughter is a vegetarian. What are the vege options like in Disney restaurants?

Are you wanting to stay at an on-site hotel?
If so, I would head for Saratoga Springs Resort. Book now and you will get free quick service dining. It's just a short walk to DTD and you will get all the benefits of being on-site e.g. Magic Express and EMH (big help at busy times)
Sorry, can't help with veggie options but I think there will be plenty of options for your DD

If you do then the onsite free Dining options are not good in the latest offer, although if you have 4 in a room that would get better value than us only being 3 in a room, Port Orleans works out around £120/nt incl free QSDDP. SSR would be around £157/nt
If you mean next year I would wait until offers are released to see what is available.
Offsite there are some resonable priced hotels opposite DTD, I have been looking for August and they are available from under £50/nt.

I don't know a great deal about Veggie options but others seem happy with Disney options.

How many are there of you going?
Most room's are set out as two queens, however there are a couple of hotel's on site that have bunk beds if the teen's did'nt want to share a bed.

Disney Port Orleans is a good option tho; First because of the "free dining" included & second because there are two sinks so 2 teen's can get ready and have a mirror each at the same time (a must for our girls) also a seperate shower.

Animal Kingdom Lodge also has bunk beds with 2 sinks, seperate shower and free dining although it is deluxe, so a little more expensive.

As for vegi options, it depends on what type of vegi you are? If your not fussy and like to try new things there is a lot of options. If not it's down to vegi burgers/wraps, pasta & pizza. Breakfast buffet's we find are really good for vegi's I have two in my family and they find plenty to eat at Crystle Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Cape May (breakfast) & Boma
On our next visit we're trying Tusker House at Animal Kingdom also breakfast buffet.
Some counter service places with vegi options are;
Peco Bill's MK
Cosmic Ray's MK
Tortuga Tavern MK
Pinocchio Village MK
Pizzafari AK
Our's couldnt really find anything at Epcot that they really like but there are a couple of options there. There is a good Italian there I think it's called Via Napoli (table service)
Pizza Planet HS
Sunset Ranch HS

Also Downtown Disney has some good vegi dining options.

Yes this year. I did a quick recky on the dining plan yesterday and it didn't seem that cheap, especially with a picky DD! What would you recommended off site?

Sharon78, that's hugely helpful. Thank you. There would be 4 people - 2 menopausal women and 2 18 year old girls. Not a good combination so as much space as possible would be good

Maybe staying off site and having two rooms would be better then

We have a 16 year old DD an 18 year old DD (fussy Vegi) me (pre) menopausal and my poor hubbie also fussy veggi.
It's so much easier when they get a bit older so they can have a bit more independance and if one need's the loo we dont all have to go like a mass expedition.
