I know that sugarloaf is limited concierge but could someone please tell me exactly which food offerings they have. I have seen several different reports. Is there an evening snack and if so what are the times?
thanks

From my understanding Sugarloaf offers the same offering as RPC, with the exception of the evening service. There is no food service after 7PM. There is also no alcohol served in Sugarloaf.

Times are subject to change, but you'll typically see a deluxe continental breakfast served from 7am-10:30am. It will include yogurt, fruit, cold cereal, croissants, danish, bagels, bread, coffee, tea and juices. From 11am-1pm, there is a light lunch served which might include assorted hummus, salad, chips and salsa. 2-4pm is afternoon tea. You'll see warm scones, trifle, cookies, brownies. From 5pm-7pm is the evening serving with 1 or 2 hot appetizer type dishes. Spring rolls, honey mustard chicken tenders, cheese & crackers, vegetables, mini hot dogs and cupcakes for the kids. As was mentioned, there is no wine or beer served in the lodge concierge with the evening food and there is no 8pm-10pm dessert and cordial serving. Cold drinks and coffee, tea are available throughout the day.

No problem. If you exit out the back (marina side) of SugarLoaf, you are literally a 30 second walk from Gasparilla's Grille. They're open 24 hours and they have snacks. When we stayed there, I allowed my son to go over and get what he wanted. Well, when we checked out, they couldn't fit our hotel bill under the door because it had so many pages. I laughed because it really didn't total very much, but there had to have been 50 or 60 charges on there from my son getting snacks at Gasparillas.

Have you spoken to your pre-planners yet? They can take room requests for you. Unfortunately SugarLoaf doesn't have an MK view, but you can ask for marina. Depending on where your room is, you might be able to see the fireworks from your balcony. SugarLoaf also has some tower rooms available by request. Not sure you're family size, but they do sleep 4. These rooms are slightly bigger than the standard rooms and have a nice sitting area with a 2nd tv. They have garden views and I think the top floor has the cathedral ceilings, but no balcony. Here's the layout if you wanted to take a look,

When we stayed there if you weren't in the lobby w/in 5 minutes of the food being put out you got nothing. It was really a disappointing experience. We won't be staying in SL Concierge again.

It seems that many have said that about the Sl concierge! Others have loved it! I think I will pass and just do the meal plan.

Pavel, if you were looking at concierge to be a meal replacement, it really isn't. You could definitely get by with having breakfast each morning in the lounge, but after that, it's really just snacks and appetizers. A great feature if you're hanging around the resort in the afternoon and looking for a cold drink, or an in between meal. There's many other benefits to consider, like the assistance of a pre-planning staff for all your PS's, entertainment, recreation, special celebrations, etc., private check-in, a secure building or floor, food offerings, package delivery, daily on-site assistance, upgraded amenities in the room, automatic turndown service and probably a few others that I'm forgetting.

As for getting opinions on these boards, all Disney resorts run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days and see millions of people come through their doors each year. You are definitely going to get a split of those that loved a particular resort, or had a disappointing experience. Ultimately, you need to decide what's best for your families vacation.

I hope it's a great one,

I just returned a few weeks ago from Sugar Loaf and really enjoyed it. They did have cupcakes and cookies/juice/milk/coffee/ and tea out in the late evenings while we were there. It wasn't the fancy display that they serve in RPC, but it was nice to grab a bedtime snack.

I didn't feel like I had to hurry up and get there to get the food at all. They kept it replenished constantly. We aren't early risers by any means and even at 10:10 am we could get everything we wanted for bfast. I didn't make it back too often during the day, but when we did pop in there was plenty of food and choices.

Enjoy your stay. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the Grand Floridian!!!
