what are my options for sugar free dining?
I had gastric bypass 2 years ago and am good knowing where and what to order for a meal ... but I was wondering about sugar free mickey bars :lmao: snacks and sugar free desserts. Do any of the shops or carts carry a sugar free option?

Not to be negative, but we just got back and were really disappointed with the choices available.
  • Wolfgang Puck Cafe didn't offer sugar free desserts so we got fruit instead.
  • Spoodles had a chocolate sugar free gelato - it tasted like a fudgecicle. I didn't think it was bad, but DH doesn't like fudgecicles so it went uneaten.
  • Tony's Town Square had an apple flavored gelato - again it went uneaten.
  • Main Street Bakery had the best on the go sugar free dessert - a chocolate muffin.
  • Raglan Road - nothing sugar free.
  • Tutto Italia - nothing sugar free.
  • Kona Cafe - best restaurant dessert - a no sugar added apple crisp dish with vanilla ice cream.
  • Various counter service places - sugar free brownies - pretty bad... but to be honest we only tried one - since we didn't like it we skipped the other places that offered them.
  • Backlot Express at MGM - parfait - best counter service sugar free desert of the trip.
  • Counter service at Port Orleans French Quarter - only sugar free dessert was Edy's vanilla ice cream. We got a milkshake made out of it which was completely horrible. Very thin and foamy at the top. Didn't drink it. Should have gotten the plain ice cream instead.
The boardwalk bakery did offer a sugar free cheesecake... however, we didn't notice it until the last day of our trip, so we didn't have a chance to try it.

In all, we were really disappointed with the selections. You would think that with the increase in diabeties in the nation, and the "healthful" dining options that Disney is pushing, that they would put more effort into the desserts.

P.S. I realize that WGP, RR and TTI are not disney owned... therefore, after day one, we expected not to have any options at those restaurants.
