We are ordering bulk supplies for a homemade pie fundraiser at DS's school. Does anyone know how many cups of sugar are in a pound???

Thanks!!

1 lb granulated = 2 cups
1 lb brown = 2 1/4 cups
1 lb powdered = 3 1/2 cups
1 lb cube = 96 - 160 cubes

Thank you, piratesmate!!

I found a conversion in a cookbook that comes out to 2.36 cups of sugar per pound, so that is really close to what you said!!

Geez I wish I could remember all of this stuff!

Thanks again!

I never can!! That's why I created a document with all of the conversions I found in my grandmother's cookbooks - and some newer ones. I made a card to keep in my recipe box, as well as the electronic copy.

Geesh, we should all print this out...I dub you the Conversion Queen!

:):) Thank you!!! :):)

Okay Robin - can you tell how bored I am? I've been out of work since the end of June. I've redone nearly all of my recipes, gone through 75% of my mother's & grandmother's cookbooks, added a zillion recipes from my DIS friends, have started my Christmas crafts, made a basket, re-organized my kitchen, created PowerPoint slide shows from our pictures from our May trip, . . .

I never thought I'd say this - but I think I need a job!!! :D

LOL piratesmate!!

I will print this out as well! It will come in very handy during the cold 'bake all the time' months!!!

THANK YOU!

LOL Robin - I'd agree, but DH & I both worked for the same place & were both laid off the same day. Neither of us has been able to find anything yet & unemployment is going to run out around C'mas. :(

Deb

:( I'm so sorry, that's horrible! If I could help, I would!

Take care, and let us know how things go!!

Robin:(

Good luck to you and hubby finding a job, Deb! Meanwhile, keep organizing.... it will pay off! Then when you both find jobs you won't have to find time to do all of that stuff! :O)

Hopefully you will both find your dream jobs soon.

LOL CJ - I was going to say that my dream job was to stay home & play on the DIS all day - AND get paid for it. . . then I remembered that MickeyD's commercial - "It could happen!" :D :D

I'd do better if we'd move, but that's not really an option right now. My field is IT & most of the local companies are still laying off. Most openings are ~1.5 hrs each way. That's not really an option either with a 10yr old.

My other dream job is to be a Pirate at WDW! :D :D :D
